  • Publication number: 20220264736
Abstract: At a designated range an ultra-short pulse laser beam collapses focusing its power and thereby creating a plasma. A range specific thermal plasma is formed from a pulsed laser configured to produce a pulsed wavefront at a peak power. The peak power of the wavefront exceeds a self-focusing critical power level. An optical wavefront controlling element having one or more optical lens manipulates the pulsed wavefront based on a ratio of the peak power to the self-focusing critical power level, and an atmospheric condition, initiating whole beam collapse at the designated range.

  • Publication number: 20220264278
Abstract: Techniques are described to support call routing and location for a user equipment (UE) with satellite wireless access to a serving PLMN. The UE sends a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE message to a network node, such as a P-CSCF, that includes an indication of satellite access for the UE. In response the network node sends a request to another network node for a cell ID for a fixed cell in which the UE is located. The fixed cell can be independent of satellite radio cells for the serving PLMN. The network node may receive the cell ID for the fixed cell and sends the SIP INVITE message to another network node (e.g., an E-CSCF or LRF) with the cell ID for the fixed cell. The other network node may use the cell ID to route the SIP INVITE message or obtain an approximate location of the UE.

  • Publication number: 20220256335
Abstract: Techniques described herein provide means by which cell information indicative of a location of a UE may be conveyed to a location server over a 5G NR data connection using a SUPL message with an LTE cell ID data field. In some embodiments, for example, the UE may include the Cell ID of a LTE neighbor cell or information regarding a 5G NR serving cell, such as a portion of the 5G NR Cell ID or a reserved value or sequence identifying the 5G NR serving cell. The techniques may be applicable to the Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) solution defined by OMA and may enable a UE and a SUPL Location Platform (SLP) to support location of the UE using a version of SUPL without explicit support of 5G NR wireless access.

  • Patent number: 11405863
Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for initiating a periodic and triggered location in a target UE. After LCS Client requests initiation of periodic and triggered location reporting from the UE, two intermediate responses are returned by a network. A first response indicates that the periodic and triggered location request has been received and accepted b the network. A second response indicates that periodic and triggered location has been activated in the UE. Additionally, a periodic and triggered location request may include a maximum event sampling interval and a maximum reporting interval and one or more location triggers. The maximum event sampling interval can limit UE power consumption and the maximum reporting interval can detect when periodic and triggered location is no longer active in a UE. The location triggers may include periodic reporting, reporting using area events or reporting based on UE motion.

  • Publication number: 20220220364
Abstract: Proppant embedment can sometimes be problematic during fracturing operations. A partially oxidized, amine-functionalized polysaccharide comprising a plurality of oxidatively opened monosaccharide units and bearing an amine moiety at one or more sites of oxidative opening may lessen the amount of proppant embedment that occurs. Fracturing methods may comprise providing a fracturing fluid comprising such a partially oxidized, amine-functionalized polysaccharide and a plurality of proppant particulates, introducing the fracturing fluid into a subterranean formation at a hydraulic pressure sufficient to create or extend one or more fractures therein, such that at least a portion of the plurality of proppant particulates become localized in the one or more fractures, and releasing the hydraulic pressure. Upon releasing the hydraulic pressure, embedment of the proppant particulates in a face of the one or more fractures is about 10% to about 40% of a grain size of the proppant particulates.

  • Patent number: 11388657
Abstract: Location services for a user equipment (UE) are supported with a Network Exposure Function (NEF) serving as a focal point for any location request. An entity that needs the location of the UE sends a location request to the NEF in the home PLMN or Visited PLMN for the UE. The location request includes, e.g., a type of location request, a required location accuracy, a required response time or some combination of these. The NEF determines whether to use a Gateway Mobile Location Center (GMLC) or a serving Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) for the UE to obtain the UE location based on the content of the location request and sends the location request to the GMLC or serving AMF accordingly. Additionally, if the serving AMF is used, a serving base station may obtain the UE location and send the UE location to the serving AMF.

  • Patent number: 11382058
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) periodically obtains its location using UE based Observed Time Difference of Arrival (OTDOA). The location is based on Reference Signal Time Differences (RSTDs) measured by the UE for downlink (DL) signals transmitted by each of a plurality of base stations, and the most current Real Time Differences (RTDs) for pairs of base stations. The RTDs may be determined by the UE using the RSTD measurements and Round Trip Time (RTT) measurements determined by a network entity or by the UE. The RTDs may be determined less frequently than the UE location to reduce network and UE load. Location of the UE may be improved based on testing a rate of change for each of the RTDs. The RTD determination may be improved using measurements from a plurality of UEs.
