Patent number: 10871467Abstract: Embodiments profile cannabinoids using a nanopore detector. Embodiments use an applied potential to electrophoretically draw a nanopore blockade reporter molecule into a nanopore channel to establish an electrophoretic molecular channel-capture for the reporter molecule. The reporter molecule includes one of an aptamer or a monoclonal antibody and has a specific binding to at least one of: a specific cannabinoid, a particular cannabinoid isoform; or a specific cannabinoid family. Embodiments receive a blockade channel current signal in response to a nanoscale membrane channel of the nanopore detector being partially blockaded by a presence of the reporter molecule non-covalently bonded to the membrane channel. Embodiments receive a blockade signal for the reporter molecule that is toggling between more than one level.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2018Date of Patent: December 22, 2020Assignee: CANNAPTIC BIOSCIENCES, LLCInventors: Robert Adelman, Stephen Winters-Hilt

Patent number: 10544583Abstract: A hollow prefabricated masonry wall panel is made at a fabrication site and is configured for transportation to a build site. The hollow prefabricated wall panel has a base row and an upper row formed of hollow blocks. A slit is formed in the top of each of the two side walls of the hollow blocks of the base row and upper row, the slit having a width no larger than 20% a width of a side wall. Provisional reinforcement is provided within each slit with a bonding material, a size of the slit and the provisional reinforcement configured to provide tensile strength during transportation of the hollow prefabricated wall panel from the fabrication site to the build site. At least one mid-row is laid between the base row and upper row so the hollow cavities are aligned to preserve hollow wall cavities that can accept code required reinforcement once transported to the build site.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2018Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: CONSTRUCTIVE, L.L.C.Inventors: Dave Muirhead, Jim Gendron, David Biggs, Stephen Winter

Publication number: 20200015651Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cleaning article that includes at least two sheets and an adhesive. Each of the at least two sheets has a first layer having melamine-formaldehyde foam. Each of the at least two sheets has at least five sides, each of which has a length and a width. At least one of the three sides is a sheet attachment side. The adhesive is in contact with the sheet attachment side of each of the at least two sheets such that each of the at least two sheets is removably attached to the cleaning article by the adhesive. The adhesive is discontinuous along the length of the sheet attachment side of each of the at least two sheets. Additionally, the present disclosure encompasses methods for cleaning hard surfaces with a cleaning article according to the present disclosure.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2019Publication date: January 16, 2020Inventors: Glenn Allen BRADBURY, Clint Stephen WINTER

Publication number: 20090054919Abstract: Analytical tools and methods employing processing of channel current blockade measurements to detect or assess changes in environmental conditions generally, and more specifically, to detect and assess interactions between a blockade-producing auxiliary molecule in the channel and either the surrounding conductive medium generally or molecules in that conductive medium. The auxiliary molecule is disposed within the channel in order to generate a highly structured channel current blockade signal. The blockade signal resulting from inducing ionic current flow through the channel with auxiliary molecule present, is based on an auxiliary molecule chosen to be highly susceptible to modulation when the auxiliary molecule interacts with other molecules in the surrounding conductive medium, or when it otherwise is modified or affected at the molecular level by changes in the physical or chemical conditions of that surrounding medium.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2007Publication date: February 26, 2009Applicants: Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University And Agricultural And Mechanical College Acting For The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University And Agricultural And Mechanical College Acting For The University of New OrleansInventors: Stephen Winters-Hilt, Seth Pincus

Publication number: 20080097502Abstract: A skin incision device has a casing having a bottom surface with a slot formed therein, a cover positioned on the casing and slidable in a direction toward the bottom surface, a blade positioned in the casing adjacent the slot, an actuator cooperatively positioned between the cover and an interior of the casing, and a carriage element. The actuator engages the blade by its horizontal displacement triggered by the slidable movement of the cover toward the bottom surface of the casing. The carriage element guides the movement of the blade between a pre-actuated position and a post-actuated position. The blade moves outwardly through the slot, cuts with a horizontal movement, and returns inwardly through the slot.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2005Publication date: April 24, 2008Applicants: Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University And Agricultural And Mechanical College Acting Fo, Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University And Agricultural And Mechanical College Acting foInventors: Stephen Winters-Hilt, Seth Pincus

Patent number: 6936433Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for characterizing a duplex nucleic acid, e.g., a duplex DNA molecule. In the subject methods, a fluid conducting medium that includes a duplex nucleic acid molecule is contacted with a nanopore under the influence of an applied electric field and the resulting changes in current through the nanopore caused by the duplex nucleic acid molecule are monitored. The observed changes in current through the nanopore are then employed as a set of data values to characterize the duplex nucleic acid, where the set of data values may be employed in raw form or manipulated, e.g., into a current blockade profile. Also provided are nanopore devices for practicing the subject methods, where the subject nanopore devices are characterized by the presence of an algorithm which directs a processing means to employ monitored changes in current through a nanopore to characterize a duplex nucleic acid molecule responsible for the current changes.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2001Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: The Regents of the University of CaliforniaInventors: Mark Akeson, Wenonah Vercoutere, David Haussler, Stephen Winters-Hilt
