  • Publication number: 20180290452
Abstract: A wiping assembly for a fluid ejection device includes a sled slidably movable relative to the fluid ejection device. The wiping assembly further includes a length of wiping material. An indicator slidably coupled to the wiping assembly is included. The indicator changes position relative to the wiping assembly and restricts movement of the wiping assembly to an initial position to indicate a level of usage of the wiping material.

  • Patent number: 9409420
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a substrate receiving member, a fluid applicator unit, and an air recirculator assembly. The substrate receiving member may selectively receive a substrate. The fluid applicator unit may selectively eject a first set of drops to the substrate received by the substrate receiving member in a print mode and a second set of drops in a maintenance mode. The air recirculater assembly may direct air to form an air barrier across the print zone to redirect at least one of aerosol and particulates from crossing through the air barrier and onto the substrate, to filter the at least one of the aerosol and particulates to form filtered air, and to form the air barrier with the filtered air.

  • Patent number: 8899722
Abstract: A wiping assembly includes an endless belt and a plurality of rollers about which the belt is mounted. A first roller mounts a first end of the belt adjacent a first end of a belt zone while a second roller is adjacent at an opposite, second end of the belt zone. A third roller mounts a second end of the belt and is located at an intermediate position along a first orientation between the respective first and second ends of the belt zone. The third roller is translatable along the first orientation while the first roller and the second roller are non-translatable along the first orientation. The third roller is biased toward the first end of the belt zone to apply tension on the belt.

  • Patent number: 8894180
Abstract: A wiping assembly includes a pair of guide elements located at opposite ends of a headland region of a fluid ejection assembly to extend in a second orientation generally perpendicular to a first orientation through which the opposite ends extend. Each guide element includes at least one first portion and a second portion. The at least one first portion selectively receives biased releasable engagement from a non-wiping portion of a wiping element extending along the first orientation to cause a wiping portion of the wiping element to be in generally parallel relation to, and spaced apart from, the headland region. The second portion causes the non-wiping portion to no longer be in biased releasable engagement against the guide element and causes the wiping portion to be biased in wiping relation against the headland region.

  • Patent number: 6776475
Abstract: An interconnect system for a device stall adapted to receive an inkjet device having a first set of electrical contact surfaces on a device surface. A second set of electrical contact surfaces is provided in a device stall. Respective ones of the first set and the second set are in facing alignment when the device is installed in the stall. An elastomeric layer is disposed between and in contact with the first and second sets of electrical contact surfaces, having a plurality of isolated conductive filaments or wires disposed therein between a first layer surface and a second layer surface. Conductor ends are exposed at the first and second layer surfaces, providing isolated electrical continuity between respective ones of the first set and the second set of electrical contact surfaces.
