Patent number: 8613021Abstract: Methods are provided for identifying media files that are related to a user-selected media file. Initially, a first set of media files that have previously been determined to be related to the selected media file is identified. It is determined that the number of media files in the first set of media files does not exceed a minimum number. A query is constructed based on the title or description of the selected media file to locate more related media files. A media database is searched and the results are combined with the first set of media files to be displayed.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2012Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Hongqiao Li, Steve Beck, Michael M. Publication number: 20100030532Abstract: Optimization algorithms and techniques to predict and simulate motion and various performance of a digital human model. The human body is modeled as a kinematics system represented by a series of segments connected by joints that represent musculoskeletal joints such as the wrist, elbow, shoulder, clavicle and pelvis. Optimization tools are used to determine the rotation at each degree of freedom of each joint that minimizes a performance measure.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2009Publication date: February 4, 2010Inventors: Jasbir Arora, Karim Abdel-Malek, Yujiang Xiang, Joo H. Patent number: 7413024Abstract: A self-closing vent has its frame and a honeycomb screen coated with an intumescent material. When affixed to a wall with an opening the vent is normally open, allowing free flow of air through the opening, but when exposed to the heat of a fire, the intumescent material expands to close the vent, thereby preventing spread of the fire through the opening. The intumescent material preferably is FireFree 88, in a coating thickness of about 5 to 15 mils. In one preferred embodiment the vent opening is in a vehicle, between an engine compartment and a passenger space.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2007Date of Patent: August 19, 2008Assignee: Vulcan Fire Technologies, Inc.Inventors: John Simontacchi, Steve Beck, Ronald J.
