  • Patent number: 11624436
Abstract: A vehicle has an engine; a drive pulley connected to and driven by a crankshaft of the engine; a driven pulley; an output shaft connected to and driven by the driven pulley; a belt looped around the pulleys; and a cover connected to the engine. The cover and the engine define a volume therebetween. A baffle disposed in the volume separates the volume in first and second chambers. The first chamber is disposed between the baffle and the engine. The second chamber is disposed between the baffle and the cover. The pulleys are disposed in the second chamber. The baffle defines first and second apertures fluidly communicating the first chamber with the second chamber. An air inlet is fluidly connected to the first chamber. An air outlet is fluidly connected to the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 9522722
Abstract: A personal watercraft has a hull having an exhaust aperture and a longitudinal centerline, a deck disposed on the hull, a straddle seat, an engine, a driveshaft operatively connected to the engine and extending rearwardly thereof, a jet propulsion system operatively connected to the driveshaft, an exhaust manifold connected to a lateral side on the engine on a first side of the longitudinal centerline, the exhaust manifold having a manifold outlet, a muffler disposed generally transversely and rearwardly of the engine, the muffler having a muffler inlet on the first side of the longitudinal axis and a muffler outlet, a first exhaust pipe connected to the manifold outlet and to the muffler inlet, and a second exhaust pipe connected to the muffler outlet and to the exhaust aperture. The second exhaust pipe extends upwardly and rearwardly from the muffler outlet, then downwardly and rearwardly to the exhaust aperture.

  • Patent number: 8753159
Abstract: A watercraft includes a hull having an inside and an outside surface. A deck is disposed on the hull. The deck and the hull define an engine compartment. A power pack is disposed in the engine compartment. A propulsion unit is operatively connected to the power pack. At least one elongated member is disposed on the outside surface of the hull. The at least one elongated member is disposed at least in part forwardly of the propulsion unit. At least one connector joining a portion of the power pack to the at least one elongated member, the at least one connector extending through the hull. A member adapted to be disposed on an outside surface of a hull of the watercraft is also presented.

  • Patent number: 8622779
Abstract: A sealing unit longitudinally comprises first and second sealing sub-units disposed around first and second portions of a driveshaft of a marine propulsion system of a watercraft. The first sealing sub-unit is sealingly connected to a front wall of the hull and the engine casing. The second sealing sub-unit is sealingly connected to the driveshaft and a crankshaft. The second sealing sub-unit is disposed at least partially inside the first sealing sub-unit. An inside of the first sealing sub-unit is in fluid communication with a water intake ramp. An inside of the second sealing sub-unit is in fluid communication with an interior of an engine. The first sealing sub-unit prevents fluid communication between the water intake ramp and a portion of an inside of the hull. The second sealing sub-unit prevents fluid communication between the engine, the inside of the hull, and the water intake ramp.
