    Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in an apparatus for dispensing a ribbon between layers of web material and more particularly, to an automated and remote positioning system of ribbon dispensers which are precisely positioned with respect to the web material by a controlling and monitoring system and are physically easily accessible for maintenance by an operator. The automated and remote positioning system of ribbon dispensers includes locking means interacting with either the apparatus or with a traversing mechanism such as a lead screw to move the ribbon dispensers.
