Abstract: A method for manufacturing a black structure of a material (10) including at least two phases, with at least one crystalline phase (1) and at least one other phase, referred to as the matrix (2). The steps include growing the material in a main direction (Z) so that the at least one crystalline phase forms a plurality of rods aligned with each other and the matrix extends between the rods; and removing at least part of the matrix between the rods of the at least one crystalline phase, so as to form a comb-type material structure with rods and light entrapment cavities between said rods.

Abstract: A paramagnetic stainless steel part including a core surrounded by a surface including at least a first zone and at least a second zone, the core and the second zone having a hardness HV1 of between 500 and 900, and a microstructure formed by a sigma phase at a mass percentage of between 40 and 80% and an austenitic phase at a mass percentage of between 20 and 60%, the part wherein the first zone is enriched in Ni relative to the core and the second zone, in that the first zone forms a layer entirely made up of an austenitic phase, the layer being referred to as the austenitic layer, and wherein the austenitic layer has a hardness of less than 400 HV1. Another aspect of the disclosure relates to the method for manufacturing this part.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally provides 7xxx series aluminum alloy products in a stable T4 temper. The disclosure also provides methods of making such products, for example, using processes that include a combination of casting, rolling, solutionizing, quenching, reheating, and slow cooling. The disclosure also provides various end uses of such products, such as in automotive, transportation, electronics, and industrial applications.
