  • Publication number: 20180221643
Abstract: An infusion line clamp system includes a clamp configured to attach to an infusion line and reversibly occlude the infusion line. The clamp is biased to occlude the infusion line except when acted upon by an externally applied opening force. The system also includes an infusion pump having a control system, a clamp receptacle configured to releasably secure the clamp to the infusion pump, and a clamp actuation mechanism that is configured to selectively actuate the clamp under command of the control system, by selective application of opening force to the clamp when the clamp is secured to the pump.

  • Patent number: 9789251
Abstract: An embodiment is directed to pressure plate for attachment to an infusion pump, where the pressure plate includes a tubing support surface at least partially surrounded by a raised perimeter support. The pressure plate includes a plurality of guide structures extending from the raised perimeter support that define a passageway for an infusion pump tube. Additionally an attachable flow stop assembly is included that includes an attachable occlusion arch and an attachable flow stop arm. The attachable occlusion arch includes a plurality of tab structures that couple to the raised perimeter support. The occlusion arch further includes an aperture configured to surround an infusion pump tube threaded therethrough. The attachable flow stop arm is operatively coupled to the raised perimeter support adjacent the attachable occlusion arch in a spring-biased fashion such that the aperture in the occlusion arch may be selectively occluded by the flow stop arm.

  • Patent number: 9192717
Abstract: An infusion device including a site and a set for delivery of a substance to a patient. The site can include a cannula that is introduced into a subcutaneous layer of skin of the patient. The set can be coupled to the site by placing the set over the site and moving the set from an unlocked to a locked position. The set can be oriented at multiple rotational orientations with respect to the site, and can be coupled and uncoupled with the site multiple times. Also included is a device for inserting a subcutaneous infusion device into a subcutaneous layer of skin of a patient. Some devices automatically retract a needle used to introduce the cannula. Upon full introduction of the needle and associated cannula of the subcutaneous infusion device into a subcutaneous layer of skin of a patient, the device can move the needle into a retracted state.

  • Publication number: 20140066850
Abstract: A medical infusion pump pressure plate adapter system and components that include a tube set, a control module and a reusable adapter plate in various embodiments. The tube set having a fluid tube for supplying fluid, medication, or nutrients, and an interface card component having a generally flat top surface portion fixed to the exterior surface of the fluid tube at an intermediate location of the fluid tube. The control module having a processor and a chassis with a pumping mechanism for pumping fluid through the fluid tube. Further, the reusable adapter plate has a first end pivotally mounted to the chassis of the control module for long-term pivotal retention and a second end selectively mounted to chassis of the control panel. The reusable adapter plate contains a recessed feature configured for receipt of the interface card component of the tube set.

  • Patent number: 7699807
Abstract: A device for inserting a cannula of a subcutaneous infusion device into a subcutaneous layer of skin of a patient. For example, some devices automatically retract a needle used to introduce the cannula of a subcutaneous infusion device into the subcutaneous layer of skin of a patient. The device can include a housing with an internal cavity, as well as a needle coupled to the housing. The needle can be coupled to a cannula of a subcutaneous infusion device. A member can move the needle. Upon full introduction of the needle and associated cannula of the subcutaneous infusion device into a subcutaneous layer of skin of a patient, the member is automatically actuated to move the needle into the internal cavity of the housing into the retracted state while leaving the cannula of the subcutaneous infusion device in the subcutaneous layer of skin of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20090287153
Abstract: A device for inserting a subcutaneous infusion device into skin of a patient. The device can include a housing, a needle hub including a needle, a sleeve, and a spring engaging the needle hub. The device can also include a cap coupled to the housing, and a retention member configured to maintain the device in a ship state prior to decoupling of the cap from the housing. In one example, the retention member can include a boss coupled to the cap and configured to engage the infusion device to maintain the infusion device in the ship state prior to decoupling of the cap from the housing. In another example, the retention member can include a tab formed by the sleeve, the tab engaging a bead on an internal surface of the cap when the sleeve moves relative to the housing while the device is in the ship state.
