Abstract: Various embodiments of this invention are directed towards a digital telephone interface device for use with PBX systems. One or more embodiments of the invention augment the audio data transmitted between the digital telephone and PBX such that periodic beeps or inputted audio signals are added to the audio data transmission. One or more embodiments of the invention further allow analog audio signals to be extracted from the data signals for recording, monitoring, or other such purposes.
