  • Patent number: 7016883
Abstract: A reverse caching system monitors residential end-user communications to cache content files when they are transferred from the residential end-users over access links to a core communication network. The reverse caching system monitors the residential end-user communications to identify requests for the content files cached in the reverse caching system. In response to identifying the requests, the reverse caching system transfers the requested content files from the reverse caching system to the core communication network.

  • Publication number: 20060056454
Abstract: A wireless communication system controls wireless communications over a shared wireless link. The wireless communication system transfers first credits to a first wireless communication device at a first credit transmission rate. The wireless communication system transfers second credits to a second wireless communication device at a second credit transmission rate. The first credits indicate first time periods for the first wireless communication device to use the shared wireless link. The second credits indicate second time periods for the second wireless communication device to use the shared wireless link. The wireless communication system changes the first credit transmission rate and changes the second credit transmission rate. In some examples, the wireless communication system changes the first credit transmission rate and the second credit transmission rate in response to collisions on the shared wireless link.

  • Patent number: 7002937
Abstract: A wireless control system uses wireless communications that include a plurality of channels and that are shared between a plurality of wireless communication devices. The wireless control system generates and transmits a first control message that allows first access to one of the channels for one of the wireless communication devices. The wireless control system receives a termination message indicating termination of the first access. The wireless control system processes the termination message to determine an amount of time for a second access to the one of the channels for the one of the wireless communication devices. The wireless control system then generates and transmits a second control message that allows the second access and indicates the amount of time. In other embodiments, the termination message indicates a number of packets or bytes remaining to be transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20060031407
Abstract: Systems and methods for remote network access are provided. The described methods may be implemented in a computer-readable-medium and executed on a processing device. Software modules resident on one or more networks servers and one or more client computing devices cooperate to provide the client computing device(s) with remote network access.

  • Publication number: 20020152303
Abstract: A performance management system provides performance information of a communication network. The performance management system receives an instruction to request the performance information from a user system. The performance management system processes the instruction to determine the performance information. The performance management system generates a graphical format of the performance information. The performance management system then transmits the graphical format of the performance information to the user system.
