    Abstract: A method for synthesizing a wideband signal includes: generating a plurality of narrowband radio frequency signals; and constructively superimposing the narrowband radio frequency signals. In one aspect, this includes determining the delays for a plurality of constituent narrowband signals for use in synthesizing a wideband signal. The delay determination is software implemented, and thus may be embodied in software encoded on a program storage medium and a computing apparatus programmed to perform that method. An apparatus for synthesizing a wideband signal includes: a pulsed power source; a plurality of narrow band radio frequency source modules capable of receiving a signal form the pulse power source and outputting constituent narrowband radio frequency signal; a combiner for combining the constituent narrowband radio frequency signals after they have been uniquely delayed into a synthetic wideband radio frequency signal.

    Abstract: A four cavity, efficient magnetically insulated line oscillator (C4-E MILO) having seven vanes and six cavities formed within a tube-like structure surrounding a cathode. The C4-E MILO has a primary slow wave structure which is comprised of four vanes and the four cavities located near a microwave exit end of the tube-like structure. The primary slow wave structure is the four cavity (C4) portion of the magnetically insulated line oscillator (MILO). An RF choke is provided which is comprised of three of the vanes and two of the cavities. The RF choke is located near a pulsed power source portion of the tube-like structure surrounding the cathode. The RF choke increases feedback in the primary slow wave structure, prevents microwaves generated in the primary slow wave structure from propagating towards the pulsed power source and modifies downstream electron current so as to enhance microwave power generation.

    Abstract: A multiwinding spiral generator is capable of delivering any predetermined amount of energy at any predetermined voltage. The multiple spiral combines three components into a single component. The multiple spiral functions as the primary low voltage energy store, the voltage step-up means, and the high voltage energy store. The duplication of these functions by a single multiple spiral potentially offers a factor of three in reducing the size, weight, volume, and cost compared to the conventional pulse power conditioning apparatus.
