  • Patent number: 10767603
Abstract: An attaching structure for a motor vehicle includes a cylinder head; an EGR valve arranged adjacent to the cylinder head; a bracket including a first portion attached to the cylinder head, a second portion attached to the EGR valve, and a low rigidity portion arranged between the first portion and the second portion, the low rigidity portion having a rigidity less than remaining portions of the bracket; and a vehicle component arranged adjacent to the EGR valve. The low rigidity portion is formed to break when the EGR valve receives a shock load from the vehicle component.

  • Patent number: 10623975
Abstract: An embedded modem for an unattended host device that provides improved cellular communications capabilities to the unattended host device. The embedded modem detects the occurrence of a signal effectiveness event reflective of the reliability of a cellular communication session, and upon detecting the occurrence of a signal effectiveness event, issues commands to improve the reliability of the cellular communications. The signal effectiveness event data can be communicated by the embedded modem on channel that is different from a channel provided for the host device to communicate its own data with an associated remote computer system.

  • Patent number: 9068497
Abstract: An oil supply system for a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine is disclosed in which the supply of oil to piston cooling jets is controlled by pressure operated valves designed to open at a pre-defined valve opening pressure. The pressure of oil supplied by a pump is controlled to be below this pre-defined valve opening pressure during operation of the engine in which piston cooling is not required, and the pressure of oil is controlled to above the pre-defined valve opening pressure when piston cooling is required. The control of the pump is by an electronic control unit based upon a combination of engine speed and engine load.

  • Publication number: 20120284061
Abstract: An insurance warranty product provides monetary payment to an insured after experiencing an error in, or negative health outcome resulting from, medical treatment. The terms of the insurance warranty product define the benefit of monetary payment, and the errors in, or negative health outcome resulting from, medical treatment covered by the product may be pre-defined. Errors in medical treatment and negative health outcomes may also be analyzed according to industry standards, and the insured may receive the benefit based on the analysis.
