  • Publication number: 20210335591
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe systems, methods, and structures that enable a compact, UHV ion trap system that can operate at temperatures above cryogenic temperatures. Ion trap systems in accordance with the present disclosure are surface treated and sealed while held in a UHV environment, where disparate components are joined via UHV seals, such as weld joints, compressible metal flanges, and UHV-compatible solder joints. As a result, no cryogenic pump is required, thereby enabling an extremely small-volume system.

  • Publication number: 20190380504
Abstract: An inflatable pillow system includes a pillow formed of an upper and lower bladder that may be independently inflated and deflated. A controller includes an air mover, a valve assembly, and a control box. The valve assembly includes an air line to the upper bladder, and an air line to the lower bladder. Each of an upper air line valve and a lower air line valve is urged into a closed position by an valve spring, and is movable into an open position by an valve servo. The air line valves may include hollow valve plungers, so that the valve springs extend into the plungers. The control box has an input for inflating and deflating the upper bladder, and an input for inflating and deflating the lower bladder.

  • Patent number: 9874271
Abstract: A transmission arrangement including a torque converter, a first shaft fixed to rotate with a turbine of the torque converter about an axis, a second shaft fixed to rotate with a casing of the torque converter about said axis, a gear mounted on the first shaft and being fixed to rotate with the first shaft and a clutch selectively engageable to cause the first shaft to be fixed to rotate with the second shaft and being selectively disengageable to allow the first shaft to rotate relative to the second shaft, the clutch being rotatable about said axis.

  • Patent number: 4489438
Abstract: The system receives line signals including tone coded information request messages from a telephone line and transmits synthesized human voice response messages along the same line. The system comprises a programmed computer, a processing section connected to the telephone line to receive signals from the telephone line, and an interface circuit for providing communication between the processing section and the computer. A plurality of processing sections are used with a plurality of telephone lines, with only one interface circuit being used to provide communication between all of the processing sections and the computer. Each processing section contains a voice synthesizer circuit, a line control circuit, and a tone decoder circuit. Each of these circuits provides a status signal when the circuit must communicate with the computer. The interface circuit includes an interrupt circuit which receives the status signals and provides an interrupt signal to the computer.
