Abstract: A microwave ablation apparatus includes a movable cart with a support surface and a portable base unit including at least one microwave generator and at least one coolant flow generator. The portable base unit is removably positioned on the support surface. The at least one ablation probe assembly is configured to couple to the at least one microwave generator and the at least one coolant flow generator.

Abstract: An apparatus for cooling an ablation probe includes a cassette receptacle configured to accept a cassette including a supply tube for supplying a coolant to the ablation probe. The apparatus also includes a pump head movably positioned proximate the cassette receptacle. The pump head is configured to move between a loading position and an operating position. The pump head includes one or more rollers configured to engage the supply tube of the cassette when the pump head is in the operating position. The apparatus also includes an actuator coupled to the pump head. The actuator is configured to move the pump head between the loading position and the operating position.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating a microwave signal including a housing with a plurality of walls defining an interior volume, an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The apparatus also includes a power supply positioned in the interior volume and a first microwave generator and a second microwave generator each operably coupled to the power supply, and each positioned in the interior volume spaced apart from the power supply. The apparatus also includes a heat sink positioned in the interior volume that contacts the power supply, the first microwave generator and the second microwave generator. The apparatus also includes a fan positioned in the interior volume at a first end of the heat sink. The fan is configured to draw an airflow into the interior volume from the inlet opening and move the airflow through the heat sink.

Abstract: A microwave ablation apparatus includes a base unit with at least one microwave generator and at least one coolant flow generator and an operating platform coupled to a processor and memory. The operating platform is configured to receive ablation zone inputs corresponding to desired characteristics of an ablation zone and operate the at least one microwave generator to form the ablation zone with the desired characteristics.
