  • Patent number: 7121478
Abstract: A side ingress water supply conduit arrangement for use with a height adjustable riser for a sprinkler head that reduces labor required for installation of the water supply conduit. The housing of a height adjustable riser is modified to include an integrally molded conduit, which delivers pressurized water to the bottom of an adjustable riser housing by introducing the water supply to the housing via the side of the housing. This allows the conduit to be located closer to the surface of the ground by installing conduits in a shallow burial location slightly below the top of the riser housing. Therefore, less earth removal and replacement is required, which reduces the labor necessary to install a sprinkler system. Another embodiment creates a modified conduit or tube shape, such as a “J” that works with the individual components of the adjustable riser as disclosed in my U.S. Pat. No. 6,629,648.

  • Publication number: 20050042023
Abstract: A structure is provided which includes first and second layers. The first and second layers are attached to each other by embedding or otherwise attaching at least one mechanically locking z pin to the first layer and then subsequently joining the protruding portion of the z pin to the second layer prior to the second layer being processed to a fully cured state. Alternatively, the z pin material is injected into a cavity formed in the first and second layer and then brought to a fully cured state. The z pin may have physical characteristics such as orientation, melting point and hardness as a function of the physical characteristics of the first and second layer and the forces subjected upon the first and second layers. For example, the z pin may define a longitudinal axis and be embedded within the first and second layers in alignment with an applied force subjected on the first and second layers.

  • Patent number: 6802237
Abstract: A system and method to autonomously neutralize mines has a tracked crawler vehicle having a sealed housing, power source, and motor driven track assemblies on opposite sides of the housing. A control/communications module in the housing has a GPS processing receiver section connected to a GPS antenna that extends upwardly to receive GPS signals and generate first control signals. A gun mechanism in the housing is connected to control/communications module and has a breech assembly connected to a gun barrel extending and aiming downwardly through a bottom side of the housing toward a surface beneath the housing. Penetrating rods in the gun mechanism are fired through the gun barrel penetrating the surface and a mine. The mine is neutralized by flooding the mine with ambient water or otherwise disrupting the firing or explosive train including detonators, detonating cord, and/or the electrical continuity of components the mine.

  • Publication number: 20030208740
Abstract: Targets are inserted throughout the layout of a PCB. Post manufacture measurement of the targets are compared to pre-manufacture positions so as to calculate a non-linear regression analysis best-fit model. This model is used to predict a feature's location upon or within a PCB given the feature's position on the layout. The non-linear regression analysis results in a set of x and y polynomial equations. These polynomial equations allow for a linear compensation to be applied to the feature position on a layout so as to minimize misregistration of features in the manufacture of PCBs. Models of the features' post production positioning is made before and after linear compensations are made to the pre-manufacture positioning of the features Graphical presentations using wire frame diagrams and color coded diagrams help identify those areas of the panel that are projected to be in and out of tolerance relative to the specifications.
