  • Publication number: 20210097674
Abstract: An inspection station identifies irregularities of surfaces of an object and a finishing station corrects irregularities identified. The inspection station includes a plurality of cameras configured to detect the irregularities under a light having a wavelength of ? about 380 nm to ? about 740 nm. The finishing station includes at least one robot, and the robot includes a light source configured to emit light having a wavelength of ? about 380 nm to ? about 740 nm, a camera, and an abrasive tool for correcting detected irregularities of the surfaces of the object.

  • Publication number: 20210094638
Abstract: A method of adjusting a panel on a vehicle includes determining positions of mounting sites on a body frame in relation to 2-way and 4-way master locator holes and calculating a position of an inner perimeter of a panel opening in the body frame in relation to the body frame mounting sites. Positions of mounting sites on the panel in relation to 2-way and 4-way locator pins on a fixture the panel is mounted to are also determined and a position of an outer perimeter of the panel in relation to the panel mounting sites is calculated. The panel is mounted to the body frame and a calculated position of the outer perimeter of the panel in relation to the inner perimeter of the panel opening is displayed to a fitter in real time who uses the calculated position to adjust the panel.

  • Patent number: 10942071
Abstract: A device for measuring a pressure of a vehicle closure member includes a pressure sensitive tip, a base, a plurality of electrical conductors, and a neck. The pressure sensitive tip is configured to output an electronic signal that corresponds to a pressure at the pressure sensitive tip. The electrical conductors electrically couple the pressure sensitive tip to the base. The neck includes an inner layer and an outer layer. The inner layer is disposed about the electrical conductors. The outer layer is disposed about the inner layer. The neck is flexible along a length of the neck.

  • Patent number: 10731978
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward a method for measuring a seal gap between a closing member and a fixed member. The method includes applying a liquid agent having transferable properties along one or more regions of a stamping member to form one or more base marks. The stamping member is one of the closing member or the fixed member. The method further includes engaging the closing member with the fixed member, disengaging the closing member from the fixed member, and assessing a seal gap between the closing member and the fixed member based on one or more remnant patterns formed on an imprinted member. The imprinted member is the other one of the closing member and the fixed member, and the remnant patterns are formed by the transfer of the liquid agent from the base marks.
