  • Publication number: 20070298067
Abstract: A medical device having multiple layers of a drug-loaded coating. At least one of the layers is more hydrophilic than at least another one of the layers. Also provided is a method for controlling the drug release profile from a coated medical device using multiple layers of modified and/or unmodified copolymers and varying the ratio of modified to unmodified copolymers.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 22, 2006
    Publication date: December 27, 2007
    Inventor: Steve Kangas
  • Publication number: 20070134288
Abstract: Coated medical devices and methods for coating such devices are disclosed. The invention is directed to the use of an anti-adhesion agent in a coating for a medical device. More particularly, the invention is directed to a medical device comprising an anti-adhesion agent that prevents the self-adhesion of different portions of a coating disposed on the surface of the medical device. Additionally, this invention is directed to methods for coating such a medical device.

  • Publication number: 20070078388
Abstract: A lubricious coating including at least one ethylenically unsaturated resin and at least one hydrophilic aliphatic polyether polyurethane which does not crosslink with said ethylenically unsaturated resin, and to methods of making and using the same.
    Type: Application
    Filed: September 12, 2006

  • Publication number: 20060182777
Abstract: A method of modulating drug release from coated substrates by modulating the drying rate of the coatings on the substrates. Each coating is a mixture of a polymer, a solvent, and drug and the method includes modulating the release rate of the drug particles from the outer surface of the coatings by drying the solvent of each of the mixtures at different drying rates. A decrease in the drying rate of the solvent increases the initial release rate of the drug and an increase in the drying rate of the solvent decreases the initial release rate of the drug.

  • Publication number: 20060088566
Abstract: A coated medical device have a drug and a nucleating agent thereon. Also provided are methods of increasing or decreasing the size of drug particles on a coated substrate through the use of nucleating agents to thereby increase or decrease the release rate of the drug from the coated substrate.
