  • Publication number: 20150113451
Abstract: Creation of a widget for presenting a key indicator is initiated based on a selection over first displayed data. The selection is made over a portion of the first displayed data. A current data context for the first displayed data and the made selection is determined. Based on the current data context, a list of widget types available for creation of a widget for the key indicator is suggested. For the elements from the list of widget types, an advice is built to include a list of widget descriptors. An interaction is made to select a widget descriptor from the advice. According to the selected widget descriptor, a widget is created that embeds a query that extracts a portion of the current data context in order to present relevant widget data for the key indicator within the widget.

  • Patent number: 8010426
Abstract: A computer readable medium includes executable instructions to form a report; process trust values, where each trust value characterizes the accuracy of an attribute of the report; combine trust values to provide an aggregate trust value associated with the report; and supply a user with the report and the aggregate trust value.

  • Patent number: 7734576
Abstract: A computer readable storage medium includes executable instructions to receive a selection of two or more data source tables from one or more data sources, determine a data source table that defines keys, and receive mapping information that defines one or more column relationships between the data source table and a second data source table. Relationship structures between the data source tables are analyzed. The data source tables and the relationship structures are graphically represented in a sequential order where the order in which the data source tables are depicted is based on a depth of a relationship between the data source table that defines keys and a second data source table.

  • Publication number: 20080244416
Abstract: A computer readable storage medium includes executable instructions to access multiple custom templates. A selected custom template is designated for implementation. The selected custom template has a set of associated parameters. A custom template guide corresponding to the selected custom template is initiated.

  • Publication number: 20070129937
Abstract: A computer readable medium stores executable instructions to deterministically construct a text question for application to a data source. The executable instructions include executable instructions supply a user with an initial text question. The user is allowed to alter a sentence component of the initial text question to form an altered sentence component. It is identified when the altered sentence component in combination with remaining sentence components creates a grammatically incorrect question. A grammatically correct text question including the altered sentence component is supplied in response to the executable instructions to identify. A data source query is constructed from the grammatically correct text question. The data source query is applied to a data source to produce data results. The data results are presented to the user.

  • Publication number: 20060229866
Abstract: A method of deterministically constructing a text question for application to a data source includes supplying a user with an initial text question. The user is allowed to alter a sentence component of the text question to form an altered sentence component. When the altered sentence component in combination with remaining sentence components creates an invalid question, sentence components are supplied to insure the selection of a valid question. A data source query is constructed from the initial text question and at least one altered sentence component. The data source query is applied to a data source to produce data results. The data results are presented to the user.

  • Publication number: 20060229867
Abstract: A computer readable medium storing executable instructions to deterministically construct a text question for application to a data source includes executable instructions to allow a user to specify a second language different than a first language used as organizational schema of a data source. Language rules are loaded for the second language. The language rules are used to translate an initial text question from the first language to the second language. A user is supplied with the initial text question in the second language. The user is allowed to alter a sentence component of the text question to form an altered sentence component. Executable instructions identify when the altered sentence component in combination with remaining sentence components creates an invalid question and supplies sentence components to insure selection of a valid question. A data source query is constructed from the initial text question and at least one altered sentence component.
