Abstract: A trigger actuated fluid dispenser for simultaneously dispensing disparate fluids separately stored in separate fluid compartments of a container includes a mixing manifold for intimately mixing the fluids together and the nozzle assembly in which the mixture is channeled into a pair of spray nozzles through which the mixture of fluids issue as it sprays, upon simultaneous pumping of the disparate fluids by a single trigger actuator directing the disparate fluids along separate discharge paths to the mixing manifold.

Abstract: A dual sprayer has an externally mounted mixing manifold for intimately commingling disparate liquids sprayed during pumping and issuing through a nozzle as a complete admixture of dual liquids.

Abstract: A low-cost, in-line trigger actuated pump sprayer has a pump body which may have an integral container closure and/or integral shroud cover with a trigger lever trunnion mounted to the pump body or with a trigger lever assembly mounted to the pump body as including a living hinge. A hollow pump piston defines a discharge passage lying perpendicular to the central axis of the closure, and an elastomeric element may be provided with functions as a piston return spring, inlet check valve and discharge check valve.

Abstract: A manually actuated dispenser having a flexible weighted dip tube is mounted to a container of liquid to be dispensed without entanglement by the dip tube by the provision of a tubular extension on the tube retainer which surrounds the tube and has a releasable holder for maintaining the tube in a collapsed condition during installation within the container, the retainer being dislodged or being soluble in the liquid in the container for releasing the stored dip tube permitting the ballast weight at its end to extend the tube toward the container bottom wall assuring a wetted condition of the inlet end of the tube during all attitudes of liquid dispensing.

Abstract: A trigger actuated sprayer has its shroud provided with laterally extending side saddles having undersurfaces defining supports extending longitudinally and continuously between forward and rearward ends of the shroud to provide for ergonomic supports of the sprayer on the top of the hand of the operator when the sprayer is grasped during use. The lateral outward extent of the side saddles is minimized by the provision of a constricted throat portion of the shroud located beneath side saddles.

Abstract: A self-resetting child-resistant trigger sprayer having a lock slidingly mounted on the trigger lever for locking the trigger sprayer. The lock has a pair of extensions, a biasing member and a projection that all extend away from the main portion of the body of the lock. The extensions engage a portion of the trigger sprayer and the biasing member provide a restoring force that enables the trigger sprayer to be self-resetting. The projection is capable of being moved by the operator of the sprayer along the trigger lever. When in a raised position, the extensions disengage from a portion of the body of the sprayer placing the sprayer in an unlocked position. However, when the projection is released, the extensions engage a portion of the piston cylinder preventing the piston cylinder from moving and the biasing member automatically force the lock into a lower, locked position on the trigger lever thus rendering the sprayer self-resetting and child-resistant.

Abstract: A one-piece filter for the distal end of a dip tube of a manually actuated liquid sprayer has an elongated tubular body open at one end with a perforate bottom wall at its other end. The body has a first inner diameter and a smaller second inner diameter established by a plurality of inner spacers for engaging the dip tube. The perforate bottom wall has an open mesh area defined by a plurality of filter openings, a first set of which occupies a central area of the bottom wall within the second diameter, and a second set of which openings occupies an annular area of the bottom wall between the first and second diameters.

Abstract: A manually actuated dispensing pump has a pump housing for mounting with a closure cap at an upper end of a container for fluent product, the housing having a pump cylinder open at its outer end to atmosphere and providing at its inner end area a pump chamber for a manually reciprocable piston having a resilient piston seal, the cylinder having in its lower area at least one vent port positioned outwardly of the chamber, the piston having a vent seal for closing communication between the open end of the cylinder and the vent port, the piston forming a sub-assembly with the housing upon insertion into the cylinder through the open outer end thereof, and one or more ramps or tapered ribs being provided adjacent the vent port for spacing the piston seal from an inner edge of the vent port permitting the piston seal to by-pass the vent port to avoid any damage of the piston seal upon assembly into the cylinder.
