Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for device interoperability for extended reality (XR). An apparatus, such as a mobile handset, runs a software application and uses the software application to generate first content to be displayed using a first display of the apparatus. The apparatus causes the first content to be displayed using the first display of the apparatus. The apparatus uses the software application to generate second content that is based on the first content, that is distinct from the first content, and that is to be displayed using a second display of a head-mounted apparatus. The apparatus causes the second content to be displayed using the second display of the head-mounted apparatus at least in part by sending the second content to the head-mounted apparatus. In some cases, the apparatus and the head-mounted apparatus are both associated with the same user, and are of different device types.
