  • Patent number: 6434883
Abstract: A vine support system for supporting vine crops includes a vertical post having one or more slotted apertures extending horizontally therethrough. A plurality of cross arms are provided, each cross arm fashioned and dimensioned to snap-engage in one of the slotted apertures and to extend horizontally outwardly from the post. The cross arms are adapted to support lateral trellis wires which engage the canes of a vine crop. Each cross arm is a planar member elongated in a lateral direction and vertically oriented, and includes a pair of L-shaped trellis wire slots opening upwardly at laterally opposed ends of the cross arm. The slots are dimensioned to capture and support trellis wires. A pair of spring tabs are integrally formed with the cross arm and bent outwardly therefrom. Each cross arm is dimensioned to be pushed through the slotted aperture of the vertical post described above, and the spring tab is deflected and compressed as it passes through the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20020011217
Abstract: An electro-magnetically controlled pet door having a door (1) pivotally mounted in a door aperture (17) of a frame (2) and an electrically controlled catch mechanism normally preventing opening of the door in at least one direction that is released when a magnet (30) carried by an animal approaching the door is sensed by two or more reed switches (23,24) on or in the frame mounted and connected electrically in parallel. The switches (23,24) are disposed in an array extending circumferentially of said door aperture and have normally open contacts and magnetic biasing means (26,27) are associated with the reed switches and positioned laterally thereof to increase their sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 5908218
Abstract: Movements of objects are restricted by a device having a housing unit having a first face wall portion and a second face wall portion and having side wall portions which extend between and are integral with the face wall portions so that the wall portions define an exterior housing wall surface and an interior housing wall surface which defines a housing unit cavity and having an opening which extends from the exterior wall surface through the interior wall surface and into the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5558222
Abstract: A tray for retaining poultry trusses. The tray includes at least one longitudinally extending truss support having a first support structure for supporting the U-shaped central portion of a truss, first and second outward extending surfaces extending outwardly from the first support structure, and second support structures extending outwardly from the outward extending surfaces for supporting the truss legs. The first and second support structures are optionally shaped and dimensioned to support a poultry truss with the shoulders of the truss spaced above the outward extending surfaces. The tray optionally includes stacking members for stacking the tray above a second tray with the first-mentioned tray selectively positioned in a nested arrangement with an empty tray and spaced above a filled tray.

  • Patent number: 4475570
Abstract: A water hydrant is provided with a number of valves operable to eliminate freezing problems and to prevent backflow into potable water, thereby precluding the danger of contamination. Water and air valves operate in conjunction such that trapping of water in the hydrant is averted by the admission of air after each closing of the water valve. By a somewhat different arrangement in outlet spout valving, air is also admitted to the spout after each closing of the water valve or other reduction in water pressure, the spout valving having the additional feature of blocking backflow, all of which meets the anti-contamination requirements of the hydrant.

  • Patent number: PP11914
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of edible peach tree which has the following unique combination of desirable features that are outstanding in a new variety. 1. High flower bud chilling (cold) requirement resulting in later flowering relative to other commercial varieties of peach. 2. Flower buds which demonstrate a high level of resistance to cold temperature injury. 3. Firm, white flesh fruit with low levels of organic acids, resulting in fruit with a mild, sweet taste. 4. Heavy and regular bearing of large size fruit, up to 3½ inches in axial diameter. 5. Fruit with late maturity.

  • Patent number: PP12357
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of peach tree which is distinguished by the ability of its flower buds to survive cold temperatures that are typically injurious to flower buds of standard peach varieties during dormancy and bloom, resulting in the production of fruit even in years when such cold temperatures eliminate the crop on standard peach varieties. The variety produces freestone, yellow flesh fruit that are mature for fresh consumption approximately July 7-10 in south central North Carolina.
