Patent number: 8834420Abstract: Some embodiments of an infusion pump system may include an illumination instrument that provides the user with an opportunity to illuminate and inspect a targeted location. The illumination instrument can be useful in situations where the ambient lighting is insufficient for the user's inspection needs (e.g., during the night, during presentation or movie in which the lighting is low, or the like). In some embodiments, illumination instrument can be employed to visually inspect one or more components of the pump system, the infusion set, or a combination thereof.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2013Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Assignee: Asante Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Mark C. Publication number: 20140214275Abstract: A steering controller can control steering of a vehicle and is suitable for precision farm controlling. The steering controller can rotate the steering shaft of the vehicle direct the vehicle on a desired path, for example, using a satellite positioning system. Components of the steering controller are environmental protected by a housing that has an opening extending between its front and rear surfaces. The opening is lined by a shaft. A hub located near the front of the opening can be coupled to the steering shaft of the vehicle. A motor has a stator fixed to the housing and a rotor fixed to the hub. When the housing is attached to a fixed location on the vehicle, the motor can rotate the steering shaft by rotating the hub with respect to the housing. A control module drives the motor based on commands from a guidance module.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2013Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: HEMISPHERE GPS LLCInventors: Steve Miller, Brian Ganz, James Hutchings, Charles D. Patent number: 8630903Abstract: Distracting clutter in ads may be reduced, while at the same time permitting various different ways for advertisement audience members to interact with and use ads. This may be done by (a) accepting telephone number information associated with an advertisement, (b) accepting a URL segment, (c) generating a new URL including the URL segment and the telephone number information, and (d) associating the new URL with the advertisement. The new URL might define a location of a document including marketing information, or a location of a document for facilitating on-line commerce. The telephone number information might be a telephone number or extension for a device or facility supporting telephone purchase orders. The ad, including the new URL, may be printed on an offline property.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2006Date of Patent: January 14, 2014Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Sanjay G. Mavinkurve, Steve Miller

Patent number: 8618432Abstract: A separation system includes an air separator that, in one embodiment, primarily receives Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) containing a mixture of relatively light MSW recyclable materials such as plastic, paper, cardboard, plastic containers, and/or metal containers and relatively heavy MSW such as textiles, food waste, yard debris, etc. The air separator blows the relatively light MSW recyclable materials up though a chamber and onto a first conveyor while the other relatively heavy MSW material drops down a chute onto a second conveyor. A separation screen receives the relatively light MSW recyclable materials from the air separator and separates the relatively flat fiber and plastic film materials from the other paper, plastic and metal containers. In another separation stage, an electrostatic emitter is positioned adjacent to a conveyor for applying an electrostatic charge to the fiber and plastic materials.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2007Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Emerging Acquisitions, LLCInventors: Steve Miller, Roy Miller

Publication number: 20130317996Abstract: Systems and methods of tracking the status of product instantiations are provided. The status of production instantiations are determined based upon a highest level within a product packaging hierarchy in which the status applies to all product instantiations. The status is then updated for the determined level using an random unique code string assigned to the product packaging at the determined level.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2012Publication date: November 28, 2013Applicant: Verify BrandInventors: Jason GEYEN, Steve Miller

Publication number: 20130306824Abstract: An apparatus suspends a personal radiation protection garment above a work surface. The suspension apparatus comprises a support member positioned above the work surface, a cable mechanically suspended from the support member, and means for counter-balancing the weight of the personal radiation protection garment attached to the cable. Means for attaching the counter-balancing means to the personal radiation protection garment suspend the personal radiation protection garment. The attaching means includes means for disconnecting the garment from the counter-balancing means, the disconnecting means manually operable by one hand of a user and disposed within reach of the user while wearing the personal radiation protection garment attached to the counter-balancing means.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: November 21, 2013Inventors: Steve Miller, Lee Bailey

Patent number: 8551070Abstract: Some embodiments of an infusion pump system can include a controller device that communicates with a pump device, the pump device having a memory device. The controller device can be configured to record controller-related data, such as user profile data on the memory device of the pump device. This user profile data that is stored in the memory of the pump device can serves as a data backup system that permits the user to program a new controller device in a situation where the original controller device is lost or damaged. In addition or in the alternative, the controller device can be configured to receive controller-related data, such as software update programs or backup controller data, from the memory device of the pump device.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2011Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: Asante Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Steve Miller, John W. Patent number: 8424684Abstract: A material separation screen includes multiple shafts mounted on a frame. Multi-diameter disc assemblies are mounted on the shafts and are configured to rotate and separate out different types of materials from a material stream. The multi-diameter disc assemblies include spacer discs that separately interlock together around the shafts. Compound discs are separately attached to the shafts next to the spacer discs. The spacer discs are made from a harder material than the compound discs to reduce spacer disc wear and to reduce the amount of material needed for fabricating the multi-diameter disc assembly.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2009Date of Patent: April 23, 2013Assignee: Emerging Acquisitions, LLC.Inventors: Dane Campbell, Chris Parr, Steve Miller

Publication number: 20130012917Abstract: Some embodiments of an infusion pump system can employ a number of power management techniques to avoid using substantially excessive power during operation of the pump drive system. Thus, the infusion pump system can draw upon the energy supply in an efficient manner that extends the useful life on the power supply. Furthermore, the infusion pump system can be configured estimate an amount of power remaining to operate the pump system without the requirement of directly detecting the remaining charge on power supply device (e.g., without detecting the remaining charge on a battery). As such, the infusion pump system can readily inform a user of a particular estimated amount of time remaining for medicine dispensing operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2012Publication date: January 10, 2013Applicant: ASANTE SOLUTIONS, INC.Inventors: Steve Miller, Ken Mochel, David Rich

Patent number: 8336714Abstract: A separation screen has multiple discs configured to receive a material stream at an in-feed end and move a first group of materials from the material stream up an inclined angle and over a top out-feed end of the separation screen while a second group of materials from the material steam either fall through openings between the discs while being carried up the separation screen or roll off the in-feed end of the separation screen. A heating system heats an outside surface of the discs so that the discs can separate the first group of materials from the material stream during cold environmental temperatures.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2009Date of Patent: December 25, 2012Assignee: Emerging Acquistions, LLCInventors: Dane Campbell, Steve Miller
