  • Publication number: 20220183751
Abstract: An interface joint with one or both of a needle actuation mechanism or an integrated shaft rotation mechanism. The interface joint comprises a flexible shaft between a housing and an electrosurgical instrument, e.g. for conveying power and/or fluid therebetween. The needle actuation mechanism comprises an actuation rod extending out of the housing and an actuator movably mounted on the housing. The shaft rotation mechanism comprises a rotation actuator rotatably mounted on the housing and operably coupled to the flexible shaft. Providing an integrated shaft rotation mechanism may obviate the need for a separate torque transmission unit. The improved needle actuation mechanism may use a pivoting connection to enable longer needle extension distances to be achieved for a given actuation distance.

  • Patent number: 9538020
Abstract: Providing for workflow and finishing solutions for printing are disclosed herein. By way of example, disclosed workflow provides grouping and managing a stream(s) of digital images across a substrate width, for maximizing print productivity and profitability. Digital images are re-sized according to print instructions and oriented into a print stream. Multiple print streams can be organized onto the substrate width, to improve substrate packing. Moreover, disclosed finishing solutions provide for outputting streams of prints according to an output format, in conjunction with rendering the digital images in physical form.

  • Publication number: 20150232172
Abstract: Airfoil assemblies and methods of using them are provided to accelerate air flow relative to the airfoil assemblies and to improve laminar air flow over airfoils. The airfoil may include a cathode disposed near a leading portion of the airfoil to ionize on rushing air and for initiating an electric field. An anode disposed near an opposite portion of the airfoil completes the electric field to accelerate ionized air flowing relative to the airfoil, whereby ionized positively charged air particles tend to separate and accelerate continuously toward the anode in a substantially smooth laminar path of travel uninterruptedly. An air ionizing antenna may be employed for radiating an electromagnetic field transversely to the electric field to cause the electromagnetic field to ionize additional air flowing relative to the airfoil.
