  • Publication number: 20030192968
Abstract: A broadcast spreader with a movable deflector is disclosed. The spreader distributes particulate material by a rotating plate which when operating, always impacts material on the deflector. The deflector and a mounting track prevent dispensing material impacting on a user of the spreader, and when the deflector is extended, also prevent dispensing material distributing to the right side of the spreader. In this way, lawns which abut a driveway or a flowerbed may have material distributed on them without also depositing material on the driveway or flowerbed. Further, the deflector is integral with a port closure panel which automatically reduces, in a proportional manner, the flow of particulate material as the deflector is extended.

  • Patent number: 5896613
Abstract: A butterfly mop including a scrub strip which is mounted to an actuation yoke for the mop. The scrub strip is formed as a clip-on structure mounted to the actuation yoke adjacent to an end of the yoke. The scrub strip is movable from a non-use position to an operable position when the actuation yoke is actuated to wring the mop. In addition, a mechanism is provided for locking the scrub strip in its operable position to facilitate use of the scrub strip.

  • Patent number: 5704576
Abstract: A seat for receipt of a child capable of providing exercise and entertainment comprising a seat having a rigid upper support and a lower support therebeneath and a circular bearing surface therebetween, the lower support having leg openings for passage of the legs of a child supported therein. An upper supporting tray has a radially interior opening in a circular configuration for receiving and supporting the seat, the upper supporting tray having a radially exterior periphery with projections extending downwardly therefrom. A bowl-shaped base, preferably with radial ribs, is provided, the upper periphery of the base having spaced upstanding towers with openings depending from the upper ends thereof. Upstanding posts are also provided, each post having a lower end received within the upper end of a tower, each post having an upper end with a recess for receiving a downwardly depending projection.

  • Patent number: 5203510
Abstract: A spreading device is disclosed including two impellers mounted to rotate in rotational correspondence about their axes toward one another as the device is moved in a forwardly advancing direction so as to broadcast particulate materials deposited thereon in a controlled distribution pattern along a predetermined distribution path generally in the direction of advancement of the device onto a selected target area.

  • Patent number: 5123598
Abstract: A hand held spreading device is disclosed for broadcast spreading material via a rotating impeller. The device has an actuating assemly including an actuating member and a dual spring arrangement interconnected with the actuating member. One of the springs causes material to be discharged onto the impeller in response to movement of the actuating member and prevents damage of the device resulting from excessive movement of the actuating member. The second spring biases the actuating member to move to an idle position in which no material is discharged onto the impeller and causes the actuating member to return to this idle position after movement thereof.
