  • Patent number: 9521811
Abstract: The stackable plant container module is adapted such that a plurality of plant container modules will nest together for storage and/or shipping while allowing the plant container modules to be stacked vertically into a multi-level plant tower. The stacked plant tower includes a water bowl, defining a reservoir for receiving water, carried by the upper most plant container module, and a water tray disposed between stacked plant container modules. The stacked plant tower is adapted such that the water bowl is in fluid communication with each water tray, such that the stacked plant tower incorporates structure for managing the flow of water through the stacked plant tower.

  • Patent number: 9370684
Abstract: An elastic band or elastic strap retention system, used for example in exercise equipment, encompasses a pin with one end of the elastic strap wrapped around the pin and with a series of hog rings or other fastening devices encircling the wrapped assembly of elastic strap end and pin. The assembly is encapsulated in a ridged thermoplastic or thermoset resin system in order to inhibit the movement of the hog rings or other components of the assembly. • Publication number: 20140048201
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for bonding a thin lamina to a carrier. In some embodiments, a first side of the lamina is separably contacted to a support plate. A first carrier having a first side with a layer of adhesive material is contacted to the second side of the thin lamina. The lamina is fixed to the first carrier, where the fixing includes a first application of heat and pressure to a portion of the lamina and the first carrier. The support plate is removed, and a second application of heat and pressure are applied to the lamina and the first carrier. The second application of heat and pressure promotes an adhesive bond between the lamina and the first carrier. The second application of pressure comprises moving the lamina, the first carrier and a cover sheet between a pair of rollers.

  • Publication number: 20060085914
Abstract: An adjustable bed having a frame and a mattress support including a head section, center section, and foot section. The head section and foot section are pivotally attached to the center section for raising and lowering. At least one sidearm railing is preferably attached to the side of the bed. A pair of adjustable egress poles are attachable to each side of the mattress and extend upward from the mattress support deck to a height such that when the backrest section is raised to move the bariatric patient from a supine to a seated position in the bed and the lower extremity section is lowered to permit the bariatric patient to place their feet on the floor. The patient can grasp an upper portion of each pole in a respective hand to assist the patient in exiting the bed from the foot end of the bed.

  • Patent number: 6598015
Abstract: The invention features systems and methods of assisting a translation of an original document from an original language into a translation language that provide enhanced opportunities to leverage previously translated documents and that provide linguists with greater context to improve the efficiency and quality of the resulting translations. In addition, the invention features a network-based document management system that provides enhanced document and project management capabilities. In one aspect, a format structure of the original document is extracted as a tree structure of one or more nodes identifying text and formatting codes in the original document. In another aspect, the original document is stored on a server coupled to a network, a remote user may display selected portions of the original document on a remote network terminal, and the remote user may create a translation language document on the server.

  • Patent number: 6411122
Abstract: In a system, such as an open-drain bus architecture system, a termination impedance can be dynamically coupled or de-coupled from a bus. The termination impedance is coupled to the bus by a dynamic control circuit if a signal is being received from the bus or if a binary 1 is driven on the bus. The termination impedance is de-coupled from the bus by the dynamic control circuit if a binary 0 is driven on the bus. Coupling the termination impedance to the bus improves signal quality by providing a matching impedance. De-coupling the termination impedance reduces power dissipation and improves receiver noise margin.

  • Patent number: 6170582
Abstract: A roller cone drill bit includes a bit body adapted to be rotated about a longitudinal axis. At least one leg depends from the bit body, and a journal is cantilevered from the leg. A roller cone is rotatably mounted on the journal. A cone retention member is disposed between a first slot in the journal and a corresponding second slot in the roller cone. An access hole runs through the journal to the first slot, penetrating the first slot at a location away from the top dead center of the first slot.

  • Patent number: 5485890
Abstract: A rock bit for drilling subterranean formations has an improved dynamic O-ring seal for retaining lubricant around the rock bit bearings during operation of the rock bit. Such a bit has a plurality of journal pins, each having a bearing surface, and a cutter cone mounted on each journal pin and including a bearing surface. A grease reservoir is in communication with such bearing surfaces for maintaining grease adjacent to the bearing surfaces. The grease is sealed in with dynamic O-ring seals rotating against a sealing surface with a Vickers hardness of at least 1000 and vibratory burnished to have a surface finish in the range of from 5 to 32 microinches AA. Preferably, the sealing surface is formed on a seal ring interposed between the cone and journal. Preferably the sealing surface comprises a tungsten carbide composite sprayed onto the outside surface of a steel ring which is then welded to a journal.
