  • Patent number: 7643409
Abstract: A computer network includes a core network connected with first and second Ethernet access domain networks, each of Ethernet access domain networks including a user-facing provider edge (u-PE) device, a primary network-facing provider edge (n-PE) device, a redundant n-PE device, and a plurality of aggregation provider edge (Agg-PE) devices providing connectivity between to the u-PE device and the primary and redundant n-PE devices, the Agg-PE devices running a spanning-tree protocol (STP) algorithm. A primary data path is provided along with first and second redundant data paths that include first and second redundant pseudowires (PWs), respectively, connected across the core network, the first and second redundant data paths being blocked by the STP algorithm when the primary data path is available, the STP algorithm unblocking either the first or second redundant data path in response to a failure of the primary data path.

  • Publication number: 20080276745
Abstract: A cable transmission shift converter for use when replacing the transmission in a right hand drive vehicle with a transmission designed for a left hand drive vehicle. A mounting bracket is mounted directly to a firewall adjacent the steering column of the vehicle, while a second angled bracket is mounted to the left side of the replacement transmission. When the driver shifts the vehicle into gear, the steering column shift selector lever actuates a connector rod to transmit movement through the control cable to a second connector rod, which activates a crank arm that translates the movement to the transmission shift lever.

  • Patent number: 7398248
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for implementing a marketing application using a store card as a Reward Card, Rebate Card, Pre-paid Script Program Card, Incentive Card, and/or Gift Card, as well as a Frequent Shopper Card. A card provided in association with an initial credit is also associated with an identification and account stored in a computer database memory, and the identification in the card enables the retailer to subsequently allow the consumer to use the card for additional computer based marketing, debit, and credit activity.

  • Publication number: 20070156919
Abstract: Enforcing network service level agreements in a network infrastructure element comprises receiving, at the network infrastructure element, an application-layer message comprising one or more of the packets; forwarding the application-layer message toward a destination endpoint and concurrently copying the application-layer message without disrupting the forwarding; using the copied application-layer message, discovering one or more applications or services that are using the network; using the copied application-layer message, identifying one or more network-layer condition metrics, and identifying one or more application-layer condition metrics; determining, based on the identified network-layer condition metrics and the application-layer condition metrics, whether one or more conditions of a service level agreement are violated; and in response to determining a violation, performing one or more responsive operations on one or more network elements.

  • Publication number: 20070028001
Abstract: A network element such as a router or switch provides application-level quality of service for application-layer messages processed in the network element, using application QoS logic which when executed by the one or more processors is operable to cause receiving an application-layer message; matching one or more attributes of the application-layer message to the message classification rules; determining a message classification of the application-layer message based on the matching; selecting one of the network-level QoS values using the mapping and based on the determined message classification; and marking a network-level header of the application-layer message using the selected QoS value. As a result, attributes of application messages at OSI Layer 5, 6, or 7 can be used to determine how to mark packets of the messages with QoS values at OSI Layer 2, 3 or 4, integrating application-level concepts of order and priority into network-layer QoS mechanisms.

  • Publication number: 20050286709
Abstract: Customer service marketing is disclosed. In a method, after a customer communication is received and the customer is assigned to a customer service agent, customer service request information may be received from the customer service agent. The customer service request information obtained by the customer service agent from the customer. A service response information may be provided to the service agent. A plurality of current offers may be obtained. A return on presentment score for each of the current offers may be prepared. None or more of the current offers may be selected to be provided to the customer based on the return on presentment scores. Cue information may be provided to a customer service agent based on the selected offer. The customer may be transferred to a specialist to facilitate the customer's purchase of the product or service described in the selected offer. The method may be implemented on a computer.

  • Patent number: 6966702
Abstract: A threaded bearing insert is removably installable within a correspondingly threaded bearing housing of a machine component, rather than pressing the bearings directly into the housing as is the conventional practice. Bearings are pressed into the insert of the present invention, with the insert being threaded into the bearing housing of the machine component. Tools for the installation and removal of the insert to and from the threaded bearing housing and for supporting the insert as bearings are pressed from or into the insert, are also provided. The present bearing insert is particularly valuable in relatively complex installations such as steering and suspension knuckles in front wheel drive automobiles, which would conventionally require hours of work for removal of the knuckle for bearing removal and replacement. The present invention allows the knuckle or other machine component to remain on the machine, thus greatly reducing the time required for bearing service.
