  • Patent number: 9828177
Abstract: A waste container having a body and a lid pivotably connected to the body. The lid includes a gravity activated locking mechanism having a latch that engages the lid to the body when the container is in an upright position. The locking mechanism rotates to disengage the latch and allow the lid to open when the container is inverted for dumping the waste. The waste container further including a slideable member that is engageable with a locking member when the container is not in an upright position or inverted for dumping, to prevent rotation of the locking mechanism and opening of the lid. The container further including a deactivation system to prevent the lid from locking when the container is upright.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2014
Date of Patent: November 28, 2017
    Assignee: ORBIS Corporation

  • Patent number: 5152249
Abstract: An attachment device for animal ear tags wherein the stud driven through the ear is provided with a molded skirt having a region of increased flexibility. Location of the region of flexibility away from the base reduces the likelihood of damage to the animal ear if the tag becomes snagged on foliage or fencing.

  • Patent number: 4878456
Abstract: A tail tag assembly for attachment to the tail switch of an animal including an engaging member having a slotted head which gathers animal hair as it is urged into an elongated member having a narrow passage therein. A retention shoulder is contained in the elongated member so that when the engaging member is urged into the elongated member it is retained. A pest-control strip is positioned between a flange on the engaging member and the adjacent portion of the elongated member so as to contact the animal body as the tail moves.

  • Patent number: 4694781
Abstract: An improvement for use with a conventional ear identification tag of the two-part type where a "button" is inserted through the ear of the animal to engage a "boss" from which a depending identification tag is attached comprises a press-fit retaining ring attached to a hollow housing for attachment over the boss of the ear identification tag. The housing may be used to house and dispense insecticide, insect repellents, drugs and the like, or it may be used to house a miniature radio transmitter or transceiver of the type frequently worn by animals, such as dairy cattle. The housing and/or the attachment means may be made of frangible material to permit quick removal when the material in the housing is used up or no longer is necessary, or where replacement with a new housing filled with insecticide, insect repellent, drugs, or the like is desired.
