Patent number: 12630726Abstract: Art paints or base materials can be manufactured from discarded materials such as architectural paint to reduce waste paint and to produce high quality art paints at a low cost and with a low ecological impact. Discarded architectural paint or other feedstock material is sorted, treated, and mixed with additives such as colorant, polymers, or monomers in a dispersion to produce a high-quality art paint. The high quality art paint can have selected traits, such as color, sheen, dry time, viscosity, or other properties, that are desirable for art paints but not traditionally present in the source feedstock materials.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2023Date of Patent: May 19, 2026Inventor: Steve Ross

Patent number: 10518189Abstract: A tool for separating blocks and other elements from an assembly of toy construction elements is disclosed. The tool may include a coupling end that can attach to pegs and/or openings in a block and is configured for easily prying off the block. The tool may include a moving member that can be used to configure the coupling end in two different configurations for coupling to either the top or bottom of a block.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2017Date of Patent: December 31, 2019Assignee: Mattel-MEGA Holdings (US), LLCInventors: Amélie Lachance, Louis-Philippe Beaulieu, Steve Ross

Patent number: 10451748Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided for using a capacitor chain to perform charge sharing and Anger logic to determine, for charge pulses arising from gamma-ray detection, a row position along an array of scintillation-based gamma-ray detectors. Further, high-pass filters configured at the ends of the capacitor chain perform pulse shaping to preserve timing information. To determine the column position for charge pulses, a two-stage summing amplifier configuration is used with weighting amplifiers controlling the relative gain of the second-stage amplifier with respect to respective columns in the array. Each detector element in the array is a silicon photomultiplier (e.g., Geiger-mode avalanched photodiodes biased above breakdown voltage). Position information can be generated by Anger logic on four outputs from the second-stage amplifiers. Energy and timing information can be generated as a sum of the four outputs from the second-stage amplifiers.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2018Date of Patent: October 22, 2019Assignee: CANON MEDICAL SYSTEMS CORPORATIONInventors: Yi Qiang, Steve Ross, Peng Peng

Publication number: 20070209543Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a toy roller coaster assembly having magnetically attachable track sections and an integrated audiovisual system. The assembly can include a magnetic lift, a magnetic bridge, and a magnetic U-turn. A controller can control the frequency by which a magnetic lift delivers balls to an uppermost track section and can produce audio and/or visual effects in response to signals from sensors that detect passing balls. Joint members of the assembly can magnetically connect the track sections to each other and to a plurality of vertical supports, to provide a variety of configurations. The controller can generate voice and music samples, sound effects, graphic displays, animation sequences, and video clips in conjunction with the motion of the balls through the circuit of the roller coaster assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2007Publication date: September 13, 2007Inventors: Ans Beaulieu, Martin Pierre, Steve Ross, Guillaume Guyader, Jonathan Jaget
