Publication number: 20240104193Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for direct assignment of physical devices to confidential virtual machines (VMs). At a first guest privilege context of a guest partition, a direct assignment of a physical device associated with a host computer system to the guest partition is identified. The guest partition includes the first guest privilege context and a second guest privilege context, which is restricted from accessing memory associated with the first guest privilege context. The guest partition corresponds to a confidential VM, such that a memory region associated with the guest partition is inaccessible to a host operating system. It is determined, based on a policy, that the physical device is allowed to be directly assigned to the guest partition. Communication between the physical device and the second guest privilege context is permitted, such as by exposing the physical device on a virtual bus and/or forwarding an interrupt.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2022Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Jin LIN, Jason Stewart WOHLGEMUTH, Michael Bishop EBERSOL, Aditya BHANDARI, Steven Adrian WEST, Emily Cara CLEMENS, Michael Halstead KELLEY, Dexuan CUI, Attilio MAINETTI, Sarah Elizabeth STEPHENSON, Carolina Cecilia PEREZ-VARGAS, Antoine Jean Denis DELIGNAT-LAVAUD, Kapil VASWANI, Alexander Daniel GREST, Steve Michel PRONOVOST, David Alan HEPKIN

Publication number: 20200143469Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved distributed computer network server system that includes an enhanced computer memory system that simultaneously provides transparent access to securely-recorded data for verification while minimizing network bandwidth usage and consumed processing power. Such improved computer network may be useful in facilitating many types of unconventional networked computer functions, such as providing an electronic exchange platform that utilizes intellectual property (IP) rights of copyrightable works as currency. A network portal (e.g., website and/or mobile site) administered by the platform may facilitate sales or licensing of fractional IP rights of the works owned by the artists.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2019Publication date: May 7, 2020Applicant: VEZT, INC.Inventors: Steve Stewart, Roberto M. Publication number: 20190128781Abstract: A hydrocarbon line sampler connected to a pipeline containing hydrocarbon fluid, the sampler including a draw mechanism and a sampling can. The sampler includes a detector for testing a quality attribute of the fluid. The detector passes a signal to a controller, the controller being preprogrammed with a set threshold of one or more quality thresholds. When a quality threshold is met, the controller can modify the sampling regimen for later storage or further on-site testing. The invention includes a method of drawing a sample, testing the sample, determining the quality of the sample, and modifying the sampling regimen as need, or otherwise setting an alarm, or taking action on the pipeline system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2018Publication date: May 2, 2019Applicant: OIL & GAS PROCESS SOLUTIONS, LLCInventors: Edward J Elliott, Michael D Brown, Steve Stewart

Patent number: 7134150Abstract: A mechanism for raising a toilet seat includes two geared shafts that are cooperatively engaged while mounted on a toilet. A foot-operated lever attached to a first of the geared shafts provides torque thereto, causing a rotation of the first geared shaft upon depressing the lever. This, in turn, causes a rotation of the second of the geared shafts. The second geared shaft includes a metal flange or other connector that secures a toilet seat thereto over the bowl of the toilet. As the two geared shafts rotate, the toilet seat raises and lowers with the movement of the metal flange on the second geared shaft.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2003Date of Patent: November 14, 2006Inventor: Steve Stewart

Publication number: 20060074699Abstract: A system and method whereby similarly situated plaintiffs can efficaciously process a large volume of legal actions requiring mass customization and standardization in a narrow legal area against similarly situated defendants on an unconsolidated case by case basis (or “Mass Action Litigation”) through a technologically and organizationally unified operational structure. The present invention joins the specificity and craft of the legal profession with a business process support structure through technology and standardization of policies and processes to enable Mass Action Litigation. In each distinct class of Mass Action Litigation, an automated rule based decision engine pushes individual instances of litigation through an instance specific lifecycle workflow contemplated on a jurisdictionally specific basis to achieve an optimum result.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2004Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventors: Brett Samsky, Steve Stewart, Jason Williams, Wagner Longo de Castro, Daniel Greco
