Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for direct assignment of physical devices to confidential virtual machines (VMs). At a first guest privilege context of a guest partition, a direct assignment of a physical device associated with a host computer system to the guest partition is identified. The guest partition includes the first guest privilege context and a second guest privilege context, which is restricted from accessing memory associated with the first guest privilege context. The guest partition corresponds to a confidential VM, such that a memory region associated with the guest partition is inaccessible to a host operating system. It is determined, based on a policy, that the physical device is allowed to be directly assigned to the guest partition. Communication between the physical device and the second guest privilege context is permitted, such as by exposing the physical device on a virtual bus and/or forwarding an interrupt.

User identifiers may be determined by way of user or by machine-learning modules or the like. Apparatus receives user-associated data from a user to be stored in a resource data storage system. User-associated data may include a plurality of data sets to be mapped to an identifier. Mapping a data set to an identifier may be user determined or use a machine-learning module. Apparatus is configured to update the immutable sequential listing associated with the data set with the mapped identifier.

Abstract: A hydrocarbon line sampler connected to a pipeline containing hydrocarbon fluid, the sampler including a draw mechanism and a sampling can. The sampler includes a detector for testing a quality attribute of the fluid. The detector passes a signal to a controller, the controller being preprogrammed with a set threshold of one or more quality thresholds. When a quality threshold is met, the controller can modify the sampling regimen for later storage or further on-site testing. The invention includes a method of drawing a sample, testing the sample, determining the quality of the sample, and modifying the sampling regimen as need, or otherwise setting an alarm, or taking action on the pipeline system.

The blocking device also serves as an indicator of the position currently occupied by the switch.
