Patent number: 11617673Abstract: A dynamic foot plate assembly structured for therapeutic use adjacent the ankle area of the body comprising a base element, at least one side element extending along the ankle area, and at least one joint movably and adjustably connecting the base element to the side element for variable displacement of the base element and side element into different operative orientations. The dynamic foot plate assembly may also comprise a plurality of strut members disposed in an interconnecting relationship between either a support member and a side element, or the support member and the base element. The strut members, if present, facilitate the variable relative displacement of the base element, side element and support member into different operative orientations.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2021Date of Patent: April 4, 2023Assignee: MDPO LLCInventors: Luis E. Marin, Steve Ward

Publication number: 20220087780Abstract: An orthodontic appliance for attachment to an archwire having a rectangular cross section. The appliance includes a body having a base portion from which a pair of jaws extend. Each jaw a slot for receiving the archwire. A pair of opposing surfaces of the jaws contact the archwire along two edges and maintain a grip on the archwire during treatment. The grip is maintained on the archwire by residual elastic strain from an interference fit between the archwire and the slot. The appliance is not plasticly deformed. Each of the pair of opposing surfaces includes a concave portion to contact the archwire only at the two edges. The base portion includes a pedestal portion between the opposing surfaces. The pedestal portion has a flat that contacts a side of the archwire. Contact on the two edges and one side provides a triangular grip on the archwire.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2021Publication date: March 24, 2022Inventors: Steve Ward, Hillary Lam

Publication number: 20160367340Abstract: An orthodontic bracket includes a bracket body including an archwire slot having a base surface, a first side wall and a second side. The bracket further includes a closure member movable between an open position and a closed position including an archwire control structure to enhance rotational control during treatment. The closure member includes a generally planar surface that confronts the archwire slot in the closed position. The archwire control structure includes a first projecting portion and a second projecting portion, and a recessed area is defined by the planar surface and first and second projecting portions which overlies the archwire slot when the closure member is in the closed position. A method of correcting malpositioned teeth is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2016Publication date: December 22, 2016Applicants: Ormco Corporation, Ormco CorporationInventor: Steve Ward

Publication number: 20110071844Abstract: Methods, computer systems and computer readable media for receiving data from infusion pumps in a healthcare setting and displaying the data on a user device at a pharmacy location are provided. Centralized pharmacy views are provided to manage individual and multiple patient infusions. Embodiments provide near real-time graphical displays of infusion data to pharmacies on separate user devices and allow for entry and communication of dispensing status of replacement fluids for patient infusions.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2009Publication date: March 24, 2011Applicant: CERNER INNOVATION, INC.Inventors: PAUL W. Publication number: 20070131788Abstract: A joining apparatus is provided for a model railroad track, wherein the model railroad track includes a pair of combined track-railbed sections, with each end thereof configured for abutting an end of another combined track-railbed section, including a tie array disposed on an upper portion of each railbed and a pair of spaced apart rails fixed thereto, wherein the rails are electrically and physically joined to a rail on an abutted rail by a rail connector. Each combined track-railbed section includes a joining element retainer located adjacent each end of the section, underlying the railbed adjacent an end of each rail fixed to the railbed. A joining element is removably retainable in each joining element retainer for providing horizontal, vertical and longitudinal alignment between abutted combined track railbed sections.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2005Publication date: June 14, 2007Inventor: Steve Ward

Patent number: 7019937Abstract: The present invention is directed to method and apparatus for determining a transducer's reference position in a disk drive having a disk surface with spiral servo information written thereon. The transducer comprises a read head for reading spiral servo information and a read signal envelope is generated when the read head reads the spiral servo information. An integration is performed over a first integration window, wherein the first integration window includes a read signal envelope. A reference position is determined for the read head using a second integration window (virtual integration window) that is included within, and smaller than, the first integration window. In one embodiment, the integration may be performed on a frame-by-frame basis. A determination may be made of the frame in the first integration window that includes a maximum sync amplitude. The second integration window may be centered using the frame that includes the maximum sync amplitude.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2004Date of Patent: March 28, 2006Assignee: Maxtor CorporationInventors: Bruce Liikanen, John VanLaanen, Steve Ward
