    Abstract: Presented herein is a method and system for facilitating registration of a wireless push to talk device with various network components of a cellular system. In the exemplary embodiment, subsequent attempts to register with the network component are timed according to the Reg_PRD value of the IS-95 System Parameter Message. Other values associated with the applicable wireless carrier protocol may similarly be used.
