  • Publication number: 20110189418
Abstract: A latex marking ink suitable for marking rubber articles has been developed. The ink comprises vulcanizable rubber latex, pigment, vulcanizing agent, and non-ionic stabilizer dispersed in water. • Publication number: 20100268771
Abstract: In a security system for network communications with client devices, each client device has a communication module for communicating with at least one server over a network, a data storage module for storing one or more covert data values of one or more operational events at the client device, and a covert identifier generating module which creates at least one covert identifier based on the stored covert data values. The covert identifier is provided in one or more network messages to the server, or otherwise sent to the service provider, and may be provided in response to a specific request received over the network, or routinely in one or more messages normally involved in network communications. The server compares covert identifiers received from client devices having the same client identifier in order to detect possible clones.

  • Publication number: 20100262988
Abstract: Methods and apparatus permit a one-way downloadable security for electronic signals such as cable television, free-to-air, direct broadcast satellite, electronic device enablement, and other services. The system can allow a broadcast transmission capability (1) to provide an encrypted signal to an individual reception capability (2) in a manner that maintains the full security of a traditional decryption key process while completely eliminating any need for a trusted authority. By including a nascent decryption key generator that may create a secure, key-based environment from an unsecure individualized information transmission (12), a sequence of key(s) from a root key(s) to a derived key(s) to a temporary key(s) and ultimately to a fully random key(s) can be generated in activating a device or a decryption capability for a subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20070182997
Abstract: A method is provided for correcting undesired eye color in a digital image. Color information from the digital image is used to identify an orthogonal color channel. The orthogonal color channel is a channel corresponding to a color that is orthogonal to the undesired color. Information from the orthogonal color channel is used to perform channel mixing. The channel mixing is selectively applied to the original digital image using a masking effect to retain certain portions of the original image and replace certain portions of the original image with the channel-mixed image. This method achieves natural-looking black pupils and preserves specular reflections to conceal the fact that the digital image has been corrected.

  • Publication number: 20070069435
Abstract: An elastomeric spring including an elongated elastomeric body defining a longitudinal axis for the spring and having first and second longitudinal ends. An outer surface of the elastomeric body extends between the first and second ends and has four generally planar sides, with each planar side of the outer surface being disposed to one side of and generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the spring so as to reduce radial bulging of the spring in all directions when an axial load is applied to the spring. The outer surface of the elastomeric body further includes four angled corner sections extending between the first and second ends of the elastomeric body and disposed a substantially common distance from the longitudinal axis of the spring. One corner section is disposed between any two adjoining sides on the outer surface of the elastomeric body.

  • Publication number: 20060285761
Abstract: A unified method for processing Raw and pre-processed digital images is provided. The method may include receiving digital image data and determining if the data is Raw or pre-processed. If the digital image data is Raw, the method may further include receiving modifications to the Raw image data, applying a sensor profile and an output profile to the data to create output-ready digital image data, and outputting the output-ready digital image data. If, on the other hand, the digital image data is pre-processed, the method may further include receiving a sensor profile that has been applied to the pre-processed image data (or a proxy therefore), converting the pre-processed image data to linear image data using the sensor profile, receiving modifications to the linear image data, applying the sensor profile and an output profile to the data to create output-ready digital image data, and outputting the output-ready digital image data.

  • Publication number: 20060288412
Abstract: Disclosed is a method, a computer system and a computer readable media product that contains a set of computer executable software instructions for directing the computer system to execute a process for determining a non-replicative behavior of a program that is suspected of containing an undesirable software entity. The process causes execution of the program in at least one known environment and automatically examines the at least one known environment to detect if a change has occurred in the environment as a result of the execution of the program. If a change is detected, the process automatically analyzes the detected change (i.e., the process performs a side effects analysis) to determine if the change resulted from execution of the program or from execution of the undesirable software entity. The process then uses the result of the analysis at least for undoing a detected change that results from execution of the undesirable software entity.

  • Publication number: 20060112286
Abstract: Applications and other server resources in a computer center are dynamically reprovisioned in response to power consumption and heat dissipation loads. Power consumption and temperature of each of a plurality of data center components which comprise the computer center are monitored. Based on the monitored power consumption and temperature, one or more applications from one or more data center components are relocated to other data center components of the computer center as needed to change power consumption and heat dissipation loads within the computer center. Also, based on the monitored power consumption and temperature, one or more applications running on one or more data center components of the computer center may be rescheduled as needed to change power consumption and heat dissipation loads within the computer center. Cooling devices within the computer center may also be controlled as needed to change heat dissipation loads within the computer center.

  • Publication number: 20050276507
Abstract: A system and method are provided for correcting an image captured by a digital image capturing device. The method includes calculating a log of a desired correction value based on sample point and a target value for that point and calculating an approximation to the log of illumination based on an input pixel intensity. The method additionally includes calculating any target pixel intensity value based on the log of the correction value and the approximation to the log of illumination. Image correction tools correct the image to correspond to the target pixel intensity value. The technique may be used to correct the gain of any image and for example, may correct exposure or color balance deficiencies. The technique provides excellent results regardless of the image capturing device.
