  • Publication number: 20090164850
Abstract: Electronic supervision may be provided. First, a stock number may be sent to a database server. The stock number may correspond to a product comprising, for example, an electrical cable. In response to sending the database server the stock number, specification information corresponding to the product may be received from a database stored on the database server. The specification information may comprise, for an electrical cable, a number of wires, a weight per thousand feet, and a diameter. Next, product production may be monitored to determine faults occurring during production. Monitoring the production may comprise displaying a data monitoring screen to production personnel. The data monitoring screen may provide data regarding the product and product comparison against a standard maintained within the database for the product. Fault data corresponding to the determined faults occurring during the production may be saved to the database.

  • Publication number: 20090138514
Abstract: A theft deterrent cable may be provided. First, a plurality of unique codes may be created. Then a plurality of indicia may be placed periodically and longitudinally on the cable. The plurality of indicia may respectively correspond to the plurality of unique codes. In a database, the plurality of unique codes may be assigned to an organizational entity. The organizational entity may comprise a first enterprise. Next, an indication that the cable is to be transferred from the first enterprise to a second enterprise may be received. In response to the received indication, the plurality of unique codes may be assigned in the database from the organizational entity comprising the first enterprise to the organizational entity comprising a second enterprise.

  • Patent number: 7523191
Abstract: A system for monitoring usage of an electronic device is disclosed herein. A client component installed in a client device is operative to monitor usage of the client device in accordance with a monitoring profile, and to generate corresponding usage data. The monitoring profile typically includes information specifying which application programs, and which features of such application programs, installed on the client device are to be monitored by the client component. A server component, installed on a server device in communication with the client device, provides the monitoring profile to the client device and receives the usage data from the client device. The system may also include a data management component disposed to store the monitoring profile and to store the usage data provided to the server device. A data analysis component determines usage statistics associated with application programs installed on the client device based upon the usage data.

  • Publication number: 20090001677
Abstract: The invention is a panhard bar that can alter the tracking offset while the car is in motion, and allow the driver of the car the ability to change the tracking as the driver desires, thus improving the turning ability of the car as the track condition changes. The present invention mechanically lengthens or shortens the panhard bar thus moving the axle to the left or right. This then changes the tracking of the front to rear wheels. Adjusting means are placed in reach of the driver to accomplish the change. In another embodiment the adjustment means is not controlled by the driver, but rather by a characteristic reaction of the car. The adjustments means may respond to the front wheels turning to the left or right, to deceleration forces indicating a turn on the track is approaching, and to acceleration forces indicating the straightaway of the track is approaching.

  • Patent number: 7115353
Abstract: A system and method for generating a master screen for a silk screen imaging process. Photo activated emulsion is applied to a printing screen and the emulsion is exposed according to a digitized pattern using a light emitting diode (LED) source. The LED source in one embodiment is an array of UV emitting devices which scans the printing screen in a line by line basis.

  • Patent number: 7112267
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the spatial distribution of a filler component within the matrix of a composite material. An electric field is applied to a mixture consisting of two or more components that have different dielectric permittivities, at least one of which is initially in the form of a liquid polymer or pre-polymer. An alternating electric field is established between a pair of electrical conductors or electrodes that are moved relative to each other, so as to alter the spatial intensity of the electric field in a controlled manner. Polarized particles or elements of the filler component that are coupled to a moving electrode by a dielectrophoretic force can consequently be dragged into a predetermined spatial configuration. As the size of the inter-electrode gap is changed, the applied voltage can be adjusted in order to maintain electrically induced polarization of the filler component.

  • Publication number: 20060131011
Abstract: A release mechanism for a downhole tool is actuated by radial movement of a locking member. The locking member provided as much as full circumferential support in the locked position and once released can be prevented from re-gripping the previously connected elements. Illustrative examples of the mechanism for radial movement for release comprise sleeves that expand and radially oriented pistons. Shear pins or collets are not used to hold the components together in the preferred embodiment. Internal pressure fluctuations before initiating the release sequence will not cause unwanted release. The mechanism is applicable to a variety of downhole tools and is illustrated in the context of a hydraulic release.

  • Patent number: 6796257
Abstract: The disclosed device is directed toward a furling swivel mechanism comprising a liner defining a vertical centerline. An inner sleeve is disposed on the liner and the inner sleeve defines an inner sleeve recess. An outer sleeve is rotatably coupled to the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve defines an outer sleeve recess. A headsail yoke is coupled to the inner sleeve recess. A halyard yoke is coupled to the outer sleeve recess. The inner sleeve recess and the outer sleeve recess are configured to form a zero moment along the vertical centerline.

  • Patent number: 5989830
Abstract: A bispecific or bivalent double head antibody fragment, which is composed of a binding complex containing two polypeptide chains, whereby one polypeptide chain has two times a variable domain of a heavy chain (V.sub.H) in series and the other polypeptide chain has two times a variable domain of a light chain (V.sub.L) in series, and the binding complex contains two pairs of variable domains (V.sub.H -A//V.sub.L -A and V.sub.H -B//V.sub.L -B), wherein said double head antibody fragments have binfunctional antigen binding activity. A process for producing such an antibody fragment is disclosed. An immunoassay is also provided for, wherein the improvement is the inclusion of a bispecific or bivalent double head antibody fragment, which is composed of a binding complex containing two polypeptide chains, whereby one polypeptide chain has two times a variable domain of a heavy chain (V.sub.H) in series and the other polypeptide chain has two times a variable domain of a light chain (V.sub.
