Abstract: A gas detection unit capable of automatically communicating event data is provided. The unit includes a housing, a gas detector module mounted in the housing, and a programmable processor configured to retain preselected event data of the gas detector module and to automatically initiate a wireless signal communicating the preselected event data for further transmission to a remote database in response to the detection of an available communication connection. The unit can include a low power radio module configured to transmit a low power radio signal communicating the preselected event data in response to initiation of the wireless signal by the programmable processor.

Abstract: A camera-based touch system includes at least one pair of cameras having overlapping fields of view and a touch surface encompassed within the overlapping fields of view across which a pointer is moved. The cameras of the at least one pair acquire images at intervals asynchronously. In order to estimate the position of the pointer relative to the touch surface from image data acquired by the at least one pair of cameras, the images are synthetically synchronized. During this process, for each camera in the pair, each acquired image is processed to determine the position of the pointer therein and the position of the pointer is recorded together with a timestamp representing the time elapsed between a reference point common to the cameras and the time the image was acquired.

Abstract: An online web-based document assembler and authoring software therefor. Authors build a library of stored document text using standard word processing software and using unique add-in software define a series of structured questions and input fields which in use are presented on web pages accessable to end users. End users requiring a document access a site containing the assembly software and by answering the questions posed and entering data unique to the document they are requesting cause a fished document to be assembled at the site which is subsequently made available to the end user in downloadable form or is emailed to an address of the user's choosing.
