  • Patent number: 9648147
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for TCP High Availability. The system concurrently delivers incoming data streams to AMB and SMB, concurrently sends outgoing data streams originated from AMB to SMB and peer routers, synchronizes the incoming and outgoing data streams between AMB and SMB, and accelerates the synchronizations of the incoming and outgoing data streams between AMB and SMB.

    Assignee: Futurewei Technologies, Inc.
    Inventors: Huaimo Chen, Steve Yao
  • Patent number: 8867338
Abstract: A communications network comprising components configured to implement a method comprising analyzing a path between a first end point and a second end point, and identifying a partial fault along the path is disclosed. Also disclosed is a method for communicating information within a network, the method comprising: defining a path traversing a plurality of nodes, receiving a fault report from an intermediate node, determining whether the fault report affects the path, and responsive to the determination that the fault report affects the path, transmitting the fault report to an upstream or downstream node in the path.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 10, 2011
Date of Patent: October 21, 2014
    Assignee: Futurewei Technologies, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6488861
Abstract: A system of coupling optical energy in a waveguide mode, into a resonator that operates in a whispering gallery mode. A first part of the operation uses a fiber in its waveguide mode to couple information into a resonator e.g. a microsphere. The fiber is cleaved at an angle &PHgr; which causes total internal reflection within the fiber. The energy in the fiber then forms an evanescent field and a microsphere is placed in the area of the evanescent field. If the microsphere resonance is resonant with energy in the fiber, then the information in the fiber is effectively transferred to the microsphere.

  • Patent number: 6473218
Abstract: Techniques and devices to modulate light by using a whispering gallery mode optical resonator exhibiting an electro-optic effect. An electrical signal is coupled into the optical resonator to change a dielectric constant of optical resonator and thus to modulate the optical output from the optical resonator.
