  • Patent number: 10401232
Abstract: Visual and electronically readable temperature indicators and methods of making the same have an electric circuit with a microchip and a bridge within the circuit, and a facing material over the electric circuit. The bridge includes either a single layer or multiple layers that include a conductive material, a phase change material having a pre-selected melt temperature, a binder, a first colorant that is soluble in the phase change material and/or a second colorant that is a special effect pigment. In operation, at temperatures below the pre-selected melt temperature, the bridge is electrically conductive, and at a temperature at or above the pre-selected melt temperature, the phase change material melts and dilutes the conductive material, so that the bridge is electrically non-conductive, and a color change occurs that is visible to the user through the facing material such as through a transparent window or in an absorbent material.

  • Patent number: 9902861
Abstract: A printable ink for reversible thermal indicators that includes microcapsules retaining therein a core material that is opaque as a solid and transparent as a liquid, and a binder and a rheology modifier as a carrier for the microcapsules. The binder and the rheology modifier are either the same substance or different substances. The microcapsules in the printable ink retain the core material therein for repeated, reversible transitions from solid to liquid and liquid to solid.

  • Publication number: 20040083205
Abstract: A method for continuous knowledgebase content access improvement comprises receiving a search string and resultant search results of the knowledgebase content, establishing whether a valid result matches the search string, and increasing weighting of matching valid search result content.

  • Patent number: 5390791
Abstract: A portable medicine carrier and protector for storing and transporting medicine stored in vials. The vials may be of different sizes. The medicine carrier and protector includes a hollow, thin walled medicine carrier. The carrier is substantially filled with a paraffinic hydrocarbon (C14-C18) such as Hexadecane, an alpha olefin (C14-C20), or a material such as Dimethyl Sulfoxide. A cavity is disposed in a top surface of the carrier. The cavity being formed from a plurality of different semi-circular compartments. Each of the compartments has a different cross-sectional radius. This allows the carrier to accept medicine vials of differing sizes. A plurality of solid ribbed members are disposed transversely in the cavity, so as to prevent direct contact between the carrier and the medicine vials.

  • Patent number: 4738364
Abstract: A portable medicine protector for maintaining the temperature of medicine stored therein from rising above a threshold temperature and for preventing the temperature of medicine stored therein from falling below a second threshold temperature. The present invention consists of hollow walled container which has a cavity formed therein. The container is filled with a suitable liquid, (e.g. water, BLUE ICE, etc.) which may be frozen in an ordinary household freezer environment. A depression or cavity is formed in the container for receiving medicine, such as bottles of liquid medicine. The bottom and sides of the cavity include a plurality of ribbed members to prevent direct contact between a medicine bottle and the side walls of the container. By preventing point contact of the medicine with the side walls of the container, freezing of the medicine is inhibited and in most cases prevented. An outer casing consists of a sleeve of insulating material which in the preferred embodiment is pliable foam.
