Abstract: A method of sighting a target includes receiving an initial condition of an optical device. The initial condition includes a size of a ranging element and a range associated with the size of the ranging element. The method further includes receiving a ballistic information and receiving an image from an imaging sensor. At least a portion of the image is displayed on a display. The ranging element is overlaid on the displayed portion of the image. A first zoom input is received to set a first zoom value that corresponds to a first distance from the optical device. The method also includes determining a first projectile position based on the first distance and the ballistic information.

  • Publication number: 20160373793
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for an optimization system that recommends amounts of resources for use in reaching viewers during a media asset. The optimization system, using control circuitry, receives a user input of a first value of a resource and determines a first rate at which a number of unique household viewers reached during a first media asset changes for the first value. The optimization system compares the first rate to a threshold rate and determines whether the first rate equals or exceeds the threshold rate. The optimization system, in response to determining that the first rate does not equal or exceed the threshold rate, recommends a second value to the user.

  • Publication number: 20160025455
Abstract: An aiming device includes a set of lenses disposed along an optical path, the set of lenses including an objective lens and an ocular lens. A reflective element is disposed on the optical path between the objective lens and the ocular lens. An addressable display is located off the optical path and projects an image to the reflective element. The image is viewable through the ocular lens and is an aiming element superimposed on a field of view.

  • Publication number: 20150362989
Abstract: Object tracking, such as may involve face tracking, can utilize different detection templates that can be trained using different data. A computing device can determine state information, such as the orientation of the device, an active illumination, or an active camera to select an appropriate template for detecting an object, such as a face, in a captured image. Information about the object, such as the age range or gender of a person, can also be used, if available, to select an appropriate template. In some embodiments instances of templates can be used to process various orientations, while in other embodiments specific orientations, such as upside down orientations, may not be processed for reasons such as rate of inaccuracies or infrequency of use for the corresponding additional resource overhead.

  • Patent number: 9202113
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for adjudicating votes made on voter-marked paper ballots. Voter-marked paper ballots may be scanned to obtain optical image data of the voter-marked paper ballots. The optical image may be analyzed to determine the votes contained in the ballot for tabulation purposes. One or more votes on the ballot may be identified as requiring adjudication by an election official. Adjudication information, according to various embodiments, is appended to the optical images of the voter-marked paper ballots such that the image of the ballot and the image of the adjudication information may be viewed in an optical image. The optical image may be stored in a file format that allows the ballot image and the appended adjudication information to be viewed using readily available image viewers.
