  • Publication number: 20080038643
Abstract: The current invention describes a lithium/carbon monofluoride (Li/CFx) cell capable of delivering sufficient power to supply an ICD or similar demanding device. The cell exhibits the typical excellent long-term stability and predictability of the CFx system, as well as its high energy density (greater than about 300 Ah/cc, greater than about 600 Wh/cc). Additionally, the cell is capable of delivering about 0.5 W/cc of cathode volume for greater than 5 seconds with a voltage above 1.70 V (FIG. 1). The following invention embodiments can be applied individually or in conjunction with each other.

  • Publication number: 20070279006
Abstract: A method for determining whether a cell will experience unacceptable voltage delay later in its discharge life before it is incorporated into a device as its power source is described. As is standard practice, the cell is first subjected to a constant resistance load discharge followed by extended elevated temperature storage and an acceptance pulse discharge. This typically depletes the cell of about 1% to 3% of its theoretical discharge capacity. According to the present invention, the cell is again stored at an elevated temperature for an extended period followed by a second pulse discharge. This second pulse discharge is to ferret out any cell that may end up experiencing unacceptable voltage delay later in its discharge life.

  • Publication number: 20070222695
Abstract: An automatic tuning procedure can be used to allow a small, high efficiency ferrite antenna assembly to be used in various FM frequency based devices. The ferrite antenna can take the form of a rod or flat disk, for example, which can use a pick-up coil and tuning coil to provide sufficient signal strength using a small FM antenna. A balanced amplifier can be used to provide differential input in order to further reduce noise. A microcontroller can determine the strength of the FM signal at various frequencies and can automatically tune the operating frequency to optimize system performance.

  • Publication number: 20060243225
Abstract: A V-twin engine having a crankcase and a pair of cylinders defining a V-space therebetween, wherein the V-space is substantially enclosed, and a carburetor is positioned within the V-space. An intake air preheating arrangement supplies heated intake air to the carburetor, and a carburetor heating arrangement heats the V-space and the carburetor which is positioned within the V-space. Each of the foregoing arrangements, used separately or in combination within one another, aids in preventing “freeze-up” of the carburetor during running of the engine in a cold environment.

  • Publication number: 20050216410
Abstract: Described is a method and system for single point deposit of checks. First, a computer scans each of a plurality of checks to generate digitized images thereof, the plurality of checks including at least one of non-consumer checks and consumer checks. After scanning the checks, the computer generates a master file including a record for each check which includes the digitized image of the corresponding check and a data portion including data obtained from a MICR line of the corresponding check. Once the masterfile is created, it is sorted into first and second sub-files based on the digitized images and/or the data portions. The first sub-file includes only the non-consumer checks and the second sub-file includes the consumer checks. The records of the first sub-file are processed according to a non-consumer check procedure. The records of the second sub-file are processed according to a consumer check procedure or the non-consumer check procedure.

  • Publication number: 20050114334
Abstract: A system and method for creating a unique alias associated with an individual identified in a health care database such that health care data, and particularly pharmaceutical-related data, can be efficiently gathered and analyzed. The system has a first data store for storing at least one record where each record includes a plurality of identification fields which when concatenated uniquely identify an individual, and at least one health care field corresponding to health care data associated with the individual. The system also has a second data store, and a processor. The processor selects a record of the first data store, then selects a subset of the plurality of identification fields within the selected record, and concatenates the selected subset of identification fields. Then the processor stores the concatenated identification fields in a record in the second data store with the at least one health care field from the selected record of the first data store.
