  • Patent number: 9385653
Abstract: A crystal oscillator having a plurality of quartz crystals that are manufactured so that the directional orientation of the acceleration sensitivity vector is essentially the same for each crystal. This enables convenient mounting of the crystals to a circuit assembly with consistent alignment of the acceleration vectors. The crystals are aligned with the acceleration vectors in an essentially anti-parallel relationship and can be coupled to the oscillator circuit in either a series or parallel arrangement. Mounting the crystals in this manner substantially cancels the acceleration sensitivity of the composite resonator and oscillator, rendering it less sensitive to vibrational forces and shock events.

  • Patent number: 7987693
Abstract: Method and apparatus for measuring the coefficient of rolling friction or speed of a horizontal surface over which a round object is rolled such as a putting green encountered in the game of golf. The method includes a device for launching a ball across the surface at a constant and consistent velocity. An included timing device is triggered to start counting the elapsed time when the ball exits the launching device and continues counting until the ball has decelerated to a stop. At the instant the ball ceases moving the timer is triggered to terminate the count. The time required for a body with a specific velocity to come to rest after experiencing constant deceleration is determined by the laws of motion. The coefficient of friction or “speed” of the green which is proportional to the amount of deceleration may then be calculated. This time measurement is therefore sufficient to determine the speed of the green surface which may be reported as an equivalent “stimp” value.

  • Publication number: 20070201448
Abstract: A system and method for consolidating media signaling to facilitate IP telephony includes receiving a first message exchange in a first protocol from a first endpoint to negotiate a media path with a second endpoint. It is determined to consolidate the first message exchange with additional message exchanges received from the first endpoint in the first protocol. A second message exchange is received in the first protocol from the first endpoint, and information derived from the first message exchange and the second message exchange is consolidated. A first message exchange in a second protocol is initiated to the second endpoint according to the information consolidated from the first and second message exchanges in the first protocol. One or more media flows is facilitated over the media path between the first and second endpoints according to the first and second message exchanges in the first protocol and the first message exchange in the second protocol.

  • Patent number: 6362699
Abstract: An electrical device to compensate for crystal oscillator frequency shifts occurring over a temperature range includes a voltage divider for generating a temperature variable, compensation voltage at an output. The output of the voltage divider is to be electrically coupled to the oscillator so that the compensation voltage compensates for the crystal oscillator frequency shifts otherwise occurring over the temperature range. A voltage source is to be coupled to an input of the voltage divider for inputting a generally fixed voltage during normal crystal oscillator operation, and providing for multiple and repeatable adjustments to the fixed voltage before beginning the normal crystal oscillator operation.

  • Patent number: 4960301
Abstract: A liner half for a pickup truck bed which liner half has a bottom panel, a sidewall panel, a front panel, and a front bottom panel. The liner half is initially flat and scored to facilitate folding and slitting as appropriate. Scores are provided to enable the folded structure to form a knee that overhangs and protects a wheel well inside the truck bed.

  • Patent number: 4807314
Abstract: A tensioned bed which comprises first and second parallel support rods which can be mounted to a fixed support structure. A flexible rectangular sheet of limited stretchability has a spreader rod attached to one end of the sheet, with the end wrapped about one of the support rods such that the spreader bar extends parallel to the rod. The opposed sheet ends has a hem which receives the other support rod, a pair straps are attached to the spreader bar and extend along and are attached to the sheet sides. The free ends of the straps are engaged by buckles attached to the sheet proximate the hemmed edge.
