  • Publication number: 20240078136
Abstract: A system and method are provided for operating a pool of workers within a distributed computing system, wherein each of multiple computers host one or more workers. Each computer also hosts ledgers for one or more originators of tasks that are submitted to the pool for processing. A ledger identifies tasks from the corresponding originator that have been submitted to the pool and that have not yet been completed. When an originator submits a new task, the system (e.g., a coordinator) identifies a maximum number of concurrent tasks permitted the originator and determines, with reference to the originator's ledger, whether the task can be submitted to the pool without exceeding the limit. If so, the task is assigned to an idle worker (if any) and is added to the originator's ledger. After completion, the task is removed from the ledger. Obsolete or stale entries are periodically purged from originators' ledgers.

  • Patent number: 11181634
Abstract: A weather radar system includes a radio frequency (RF) receiver, an entity detector, and a machine learning circuit. The RF receiver generates a radar data signal based on a received radar return. The entity detector calculates an entity value based on the radar data signal, compares the entity value to a threat detection threshold, and outputs an indication of a threat based on the entity value exceeding the threat detection threshold. The machine learning circuit receives at least one of (1) sensor data regarding an environment about the antenna or (2) platform state data regarding a platform, executes a radar detection model to calculate an updated threat detection threshold based on the radar data signal and the at least one of the sensor data or the platform state data, and provides the updated threat detection threshold to the entity detector to update the entity detector.

  • Publication number: 20120095847
Abstract: A method and system for managing ad campaign data. According to one embodiment, an application receives a request to store data associated with an ad campaign, and responsive to the request, stores one or more output files and context information associated with the data, the context information assembled according to a pre-defined data format defining a role of the data within the ad campaign.

  • Publication number: 20070091596
Abstract: A modular lighting system is formed of tubular fluorescent lamps mounted within adjustable fixtures. The fixtures are composed of rigid and flexible elements and can conform to the shape of almost any size or shape of lamp. The lamps may be of any variety of pre-determined shape, curvature or length, to meet the desired lighting requirement. Each fixture may include a lampholder, lamp retention device, mounting surface, ballast, enclosures, and specially-molded flexible special power cable which flexibly connects the rigid elements or assemblies of each fixture. Electrical connections are made between each adjacent fixture, with integral male and female flexible power cords. Thus, a custom-made fluorescent lighting system is created using standardized flexibly adjustable fixtures and any variety of lamp shapes or lengths. The system may be installed and electrically connected without any disassembly or tradition field-assembled and installed wiring, minimizing effort for installation or removal.

  • Patent number: 7025474
Abstract: A dual mode or multimode backlight containing LEDs as a light source. The backlight has light cavity containing a reflective material. The cavity has an opening to allow light to be directed to a display source such as a liquid crystal display (LCD). Two sets of LEDs are provided, one set for day mode and one set for night mode. The night mode LEDs is fitted with an NVIS filter. The day mode LEDs is fitted with a filter that suppresses the phosphorescence from the day mode LEDs. The filter suppress the IR energy and allows maximum luminance from the day mode LEDs. During night mode operation, the backlight is flooded with light. Filtered light from the NVIS LED's would impinge on the day mode LED's causing them to phosphoresce. The filter over the day mode LEDs removes the infrared energy from the phosphorescent light emitted from the day mode LEDs.

  • Publication number: 20040035859
Abstract: The invention is a method making a food product expandable in the presence of microwave energy. The product is a pellet made from a milled flour, a milled starch, an oil coating. The milled flour and starch are held together by water. A crucial step in the process is coating the product with a microwave heatable substance, preferably oil. It is also important in practice to include spices within the product and in the coating. Prior to microwaving the product it is packaged in a microwavable container which is preferably a breathable plastic such as polyester which is resistant to heat and contains the moisture and heat from the process while not exploding from the pressure. The pellet may be partially, but not completely microwaved prior to beginning and are separated from one another before the microwaving process.
