Patent number: 12252850Abstract: A slew drive includes a bushing interfacing with a drive gear. The bushing resists a load from the drive gear. The bushing includes an aluminum bronze alloy with a high strength. A paving machine includes multiple of the slew drives. The slew drives control an angle of a pivot arm and steering of a track. A method of reducing component failure in the paving machine includes determining an angular position error of the slew drive of the track. If the angular position exceeds a tolerance, a rate-of-change of the angular position is found to determine whether the slew drive is rotating. Where the slew drive is not rotating, the slew drive is driven in a reverse direction to unseize the slew drive. A track drive and the slew drive of the pivot are controlled by a control loop. The slew drive may be dithered to steer a trailing pivot.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2021Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: GOMACO CorporationInventors: Scott Pedersen, Steven A. Publication number: 20240307810Abstract: A filter system includes a tube sheet defining a plurality of holes in fluid communication with a plurality of filter bags. The system also includes a rotating assembly having an arm defining one or more outlets to provide pressurized air from an air source toward the tube sheet in response to pulsing one or more actuators. A motor is operably coupled to the stationary assembly and the rotating assembly to rotate the arm about an axis at a preset rotational speed. A controller is operably coupled to the motor and the one or more actuators to provide pulse commands based on a pulse interval and a jog interval. The pulse interval and the jog interval may be determined based on a measured rotational speed of the arm, which may be redetermined during operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2024Publication date: September 19, 2024Inventors: Stephan A. Graham, Steven A. Johnson

Publication number: 20240115983Abstract: Air filter systems, filter bag assemblies, filter bags and corresponding methods are described herein. Air filter systems, filter bag assemblies, filter bags and corresponding methods are described herein. The filter bag assemblies include a flange assembly, a cage attached to the flange assembly, and a filter bag installed over the cage with an opening at the flange assembly. When installed in the dirty air chamber of the air filter system, a seal between the flange assembly and the tubesheet defining the dirty air chamber is provided by applying a seal force on the end of the filter bag assembly located proximate the access panel on the side of the dirty air chamber opposite the tubesheet. That seal force is transmitted to the flange assembly through the cage. The tubular filter bags may be in the form of triangular bags and/or may include bag support connectors at the closed end of the bag.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Steven A. Johnson, Gabriel J. Safarian, David V. Gutman, David L. Van Eylen, Benny J.B. Mombaerts, Eric W.E. Collin, Iman Vezvaei

Publication number: 20220126229Abstract: The technology disclosed herein relates to, in part, a filter assembly. Filter media is arranged about a central media opening, where the filter media has a first end and a second end. The central media opening extends in an axial direction from the first end towards the second end. An endcap is coupled to the first end of the filter media. The endcap defines an opening in fluid communication with the central media opening, an inner surface abutting and surrounding the endcap opening, and a perimetric sealing surface about the endcap. A first portion of the perimetric sealing surface projects inwardly towards the endcap opening and a second portion of the perimetric sealing surface projects outwardly from the endcap opening. The first portion and the second portion are in axial alignment, and the perimetric sealing surface forms an oblong loop in a first cross-section orthogonal to the axial direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2020Publication date: April 28, 2022Inventors: Steven A.
