  • Patent number: 10822071
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enforcing contours onto parts of an aircraft. One embodiment is a method for enforcing a contour onto aircraft parts. The method includes removably attaching segmented ring details to aircraft skin details, attaching stringers to skin details to create skin assemblies, positioning skin assemblies at a support structure defining a contour, and fastening frames to the skin assemblies to create a panel. The method also includes removably installing a spreader section onto the panel to complete assembly of a brace prior to removal of the panel, transporting the panel while the brace enforces the contour, attaching the brace to braces for other panels to form a barrel section of a fuselage for an aircraft while the brace enforces the contour, and removing the brace from the barrel section after the barrel section has been formed.

  • Patent number: 10364390
Abstract: A fast-decaying, dense phosphor having relatively high light emission is described. Through a combination of material selection, growth and deposition technique, phosphor thin films are made that preserve the necessary light output when used in thin-films, unlike common fast phosphors, such as P-46, P-47, and also have an afterglow that decays much faster than common bright phosphors, such as P-43. Use of the phosphor is described in applications where acquiring many frames/images very quickly is required.

  • Publication number: 20130074254
Abstract: An island wave pool for a water amusement park is presented. A wave generation apparatus is positioned on an island, the island located within a water-filled swimming pool. The water-filled swimming pool is suitable for water recreation activities, including wading, swimming, and wave riding. A beach recreation area bounds the outer perimeter of the pool. The wave generation apparatus on the central island generates single or multiple continuous waves in the water-filled swimming pool. Wave generation apparatuses are presented, including an island-based caisson wave generator and an island-based plow, channel, and reef wave generator.

  • Publication number: 20110283993
Abstract: A water heater includes: an inner tank having an internal cavity configured to hold water therein; a heating device residing in the internal cavity; an outer lining that surrounds the inner tank, a gap being present between the outer lining and the inner tank; and insulation material located in the gap. The gap is under a vacuum of between about 5 and 200 microns. In this configuration, the water heater can have an R value in excess of 500. With this level of insulative capacity, water stored in the water heater may lose only 2° F. or less over a 24 hour period, thereby substantially outperforming conventional water heaters.

  • Publication number: 20050182588
Abstract: A system for testing an integrated circuit device under test (DUT) communicating though synchronous digital signals and through a high speed serialization/de-serialization (serdes) bus includes a serdes interface circuit for communicating with the DUT via the serdes bus and an integrated circuit (IC) tester for communicating with the DUT and with the serdes interface circuit via digital signals. State changes in the digital signals are synchronized to a clock signal within the IC tester. The serdes interface circuit receives instructions from the IC tester via at least one of the digital signals and responds to the instructions by transmitting data to the DUT via the serdes bus using appropriate serdes protocol, by receiving and storing data transmitted by the DUT via the serdes bus, and by thereafter forwarding the stored data to the IC tester via at least one of the digital signals.
