  • Publication number: 20240121367
Abstract: Systems for displaying images in a cinema setting can include components to reduce screen-door effect. The systems can include an array of light emitting sources or other active sources of light. In one example, the light emitting source emit pixels of light to a projection lens to project an image represented by the projection lens and a baffle and an aperture stop can block part of the light from the sources that exceeds an allowable cone angle of acceptable of the system. In another example, a display includes the array of light emitting sources and additional elements, such as diffuser elements, positioned in front of the array of light emitting sources.

  • Patent number: 10467666
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for tracking user access to an advertisement and user transactions with an electronic commerce computer associated with the advertisement. In accordance with one aspect of the disclosed technology, a transaction tracking computer associates an identifier with each access (e.g., click) of an advertisement. Transactions that occur at the electronic commerce computer that are related to the advertisement will be reported to the transaction tracking server together with the identifier. In one embodiment, if the reported transaction is a duplicate of a previously reported transaction, then the reported transaction is determined to be invalid. In one embodiment, if the reported transaction occurs more than a predetermined amount of time after the time the identifier was initially generated, then the reported transaction will also be determined to be invalid.

  • Patent number: 9088842
Abstract: A grille for an electroacoustic transducer. The grille has a frame defining a length, a width, and a depth, the frame configured to cover at least a portion of the electroacoustic transducer, and the frame configured as substantially acoustically transparent relative to the electroacoustic transducer. The frame has an energy absorption capacity such that for a mass of 6.8 kg impacting the frame at a speed of 24.1 km/h, the 3 ms deceleration is no more than 80 gs.

  • Publication number: 20140270322
Abstract: To allow a manufacturer to minimize the distance between the electroacoustic transducers, arrangements of the innovation relate to a substantially flexible grille for an electroacoustic transducer. In one arrangement, the grille is manufactured from a material that substantially simulates the foam headrest material and provides a degree of rigidity to the fabric covering over the headrest. Accordingly, with the grille being manufactured from a relatively flexible material, the manufacturer can mount the electroacoustic transducers at a relatively close distance (e.g., within a 140 mm central area) while adequately supporting the perforated or acoustically transparent headrest covering material and complying with automotive safety regulations.

  • Patent number: 5648623
Abstract: A ligature for affixing a reed to the mouthpiece of a woodwind instrument, primarily saxophones and clarinets. A spiral of non-stretching cord, with a mechanism for defining the spiral's shape and for providing a way of tightening it, extends around the reed and the mouthpiece. The mechanism is suspended and tightened by a vertical bridge and an integral puller assembly. The spiral cord passes through holes in the puller. The puller is raised by way of a tightening nut through a non-resonant bridge all of which tightens the spiral cord to firmly hold the reed to the mouthpiece. The bridge bears down against the mouthpiece which applies force to the bridge's contact points. The tension of each wrap of the spiral is equalized by the forces upon the bridge and the puller's design. The spiral cord is damped from extraneous vibration by use of spacing combs and by way of this self equalizing design.
