Abstract: Systems and methods for preventing access to a segment of a media asset during a fast-access playback operation are provided. A media asset is retrieved from storage. A user request to perform a fast-access playback operation on the media asset is received. Information that identifies the segment of the media asset is retrieved. The information is generated based on input received from a crowd that includes a plurality of users that have previously consumed the media asset. The fast-access playback operation is automatically terminated before the segment is reached based on the retrieved information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing input from a plurality of users to identify a type of media asset segment are provided. A plurality of messages is received from a plurality of users at a remote server. The received messages are processed to extract a plurality of words from each message. Each of a first plurality of the words is cross-referenced with a first database of media asset information to identify a media asset that corresponds to a portion of the received messages. A segment within the media asset is identified based on the portion of the received messages. Each of a second plurality of the words of the portion of the received messages is cross-referenced with a second database of segment types to assign a type to the identified segment. Information is stored for the media asset identifying a position and type of the segment within the media asset.

Abstract: A router comprises a local network interface and routing services. The router also includes a data exchanger interface that can be configured to connect to a data exchanger. A security enclosure is configured to cover the data exchanger when the data exchanger is connected to the data exchanger interface.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for navigating a media guidance application with multiple perspective views. A first of a plurality of media guidance objects may be displayed in a first perspective view that appears flat on the screen. A second media guidance object may be displayed in a second perspective view that appears to be going into the screen creating the appearance of a fold between the first and second media guidance application objects at a location where the first perspective view changes into the second perspective view. The second media guidance object in the second perspective view may be caused to slide through the fold into the first perspective view. The second media guidance object displayed in the first perspective view may be selected. An action may be performed for a media asset corresponding to the selected media guidance object.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for navigating media content information using a media guidance application implemented on a portable device with a touch-sensitive display. A touch-sensitive display screen with at least two portions is displayed. The first portion is dedicated to receive handwritten input. The second portion is dedicated to display an interactive media guide and receive navigation direction input or selection input. Upon receiving handwritten input on the first portion of the touch-sensitive display, the device displays a media content corresponding to the received handwritten input in the media guide of the second portion of the touch-sensitive device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for efficiently navigating through related content based on a profile associated with a user are provided. A media asset being displayed on a second user equipment device is identified, with the first user equipment device. A visual indication of the media asset is generated for display on the first user equipment device. A search for a plurality of content that is related to the displayed media asset is performed. A first gesture is received with the first user equipment device while the media asset is being displayed. Navigation is performed between the plurality of content based on the received gesture.

Abstract: Systems and methods for setting up a power-on state of a user equipment device using a media guidance application are provided. A power-on state may specify media content related actions to be performed by the user equipment device when the user equipment device next powers on. In particular, in response to a user request to power off the user equipment device, the user may be presented with multiple power-on state options on a power-off screen. A user selection of a power-on state option may be received and a start-up routine of the user equipment device may be configured such that the user equipment device performs the media content related actions specified by the selected power-on state when it powers on.

Abstract: Systems and methods for efficiently navigating through related content based on a profile associated with a user are provided. Content being displayed on the user equipment device from a first media asset received from a first content source of the plurality of content sources to a second media asset received from a second content source of the plurality of content sources is changed based on a first user selection of a first set of navigation keys. A second user selection of the second set of navigation keys is received. The second user selection is received while the second media asset is being displayed. A search for a plurality of content related to the second media asset is performed. A set of the plurality of content corresponding to a profile associated with the user is identified. The identified set is navigated based on the second user selection.

Abstract: An overpressure protection system and method for a hyperbaric chamber having a secondary relief valve in pressure communication with a hyperbaric chamber and configured to actuate upon occurrence of a predetermined pressure condition. Actuation of the secondary relief valve causes an output signal to be delivered to a relay input, which results in actuation of an emergency vent valve to close an oxygen shutoff valve to terminate the flow of oxygen to the chamber. In the preferred embodiment, the predetermined pressure condition occurs when the chamber pressure exceeds the maximum chamber set point plus a predetermined pressure differential. In the preferred embodiment, the relay may be pneumatic or electromechanical.

Abstract: A method for communicating network status information includes receiving, via a first link, a request for status information from a client device, the first link being a link between a router device and a client device. In response to the request, a data exchanger is polled for status information via a second link. The second link is a link between the router device and the data exchanger. The status information identifies a state of a third link between the data exchanger and a wide area network. The status information is received via the second link and communicated to the client device via the first link.

Abstract: In various embodiments, the influence of marketing assets upon an individual are analyzed. In particular, a record of the individual's interactions with a first marketing asset of a first marketing campaign may be stored in a database. Thereafter, the database may be queried to determine whether the individual interacted with the first marketing asset in accordance with defined criteria. If so, the individual may be associated with the first marketing campaign.

Abstract: Coaxial connectors include have a rear cable-receiving end and a front connection end that is opposite the cable-receiving end. These connectors include a connector body having a front end that extends toward the front connection end of the coaxial connector and a rear end opposite the front end and a compression element that is configured to move between an unseated position and a seated position, the compression element configured to impart a compressive force to secure one or more elements of a cable within the connector body when the compression element is in the seated position. The compression element is designed to be closer to the front connection end of the coaxial connector when in the unseated position than it is when in the seated position.

Abstract: Methods and systems can generate a stereoscopic three-dimensional, virtual environment for presentation on a display. This virtual environment may include representations of a plurality of buildings, wherein each of the plurality of buildings represents a different characteristic of content and/or content listings. The virtual environment can be presented from a first point of view to a user. In response to user input, the presentation of the virtual environment can be changed from the first point of view to a second point of view. The rate at which the presentation of the virtual environment is changed can be controlled based on a distance between the first point of view and the second point of view. A user selection of one of the plurality of buildings can be received, and options can be presented which are associated with the characteristic represented by the building selected by the user.

Abstract: A fully collapsible lightweight mount to support a cargo loading apparatus. The mount has releasably attached horizontal and vertical arms, with a bracket to adjustably attach a cargo loading device on the vertical arm. In one embodiment, the horizontal arms have brackets configured to attach to “stake holes” in the standard side walls of a pickup truck cargo bed. The vertical arm of the device may be further supported against for example, a cargo bed forward wall or floor by a floor brace. Alternatively horizontal arm may attach to a pickup truck trailer hitch by additional mounts and connecting arm components suitable for attachment to a class 3 trailer hitch. The component parts can be readily assembled and disassembled, are lightweight, and occupy little space. The disassembled device can be stored in a carrying bag in the cab or other compartment of a vehicle.

Abstract: A thermoelectric device comprising an elongated panel, formed of a thermally insulating material, and having a plurality of thermoelectric elements comprising compacted conductors inside the insulating material and expanded conductors outside the insulating material wherein the thermoelectric elements run substantially parallel to or at an acute angle relative to the long dimension of the panel. The thermoelectric device may be integrated into a variety of surfaces or enclosures needing heating or cooling with controls and configurations to optimize the application.

Abstract: Methods and systems for restricting control of a home entertainment device by a mobile device are provided. In particular, in some embodiments, these methods and systems define a region for the mobile device. Then the methods and systems determine whether the mobile device is within a predetermined range of the region. In response to determining that the mobile device is within the predetermined range of the region, the methods and systems enable the mobile device to control a first function of the home entertainment equipment. In response to determining that the mobile device is outside of the predetermined range of the region, the methods and systems prevent the mobile device from controlling the first function of the home entertainment device and enable the mobile device to control a second function of the home entertainment device that is different from the first function.

Abstract: Systems and methods for navigating a three-dimensional (3D) media guidance application are provided. A first selectable media guidance object may be displayed on a screen that when viewed through the stereoscopic optical device may appear in a first plane. A second selectable media guidance object may be displayed on the screen that when viewed through the stereoscopic optical device may appear in a second plane. The first and second planes may be perceived to intersect an axis normal to the display in different locations. A user selection of at least one of the first and second selectable media guidance objects may be received. An action of moving a cursor in 3D space or selecting one of the selectable media guidance objects displayed in the 3D space may be performed based on the user selection. The user selection may be performed with an input device having an accelerometer.

Abstract: A method of analyzing a legacy source code application is described. The method comprises traversing a generated set of entries of a module hash array, a summary count catalog, and an occurrence location catalog to determine duplicate lines of code of the legacy source code application. The method also comprises determining a duplicate sequence of one or more lines of code with respect to at least one other sequence of one or more lines of code of the legacy source code application based on traversal of the generated set of entries of the module hash array, the summary count catalog, and the occurrence location catalog. The method also comprises storing a match result identifying the determined duplicate sequence and the at least one other sequence.

Abstract: Inexpensive, lightweight, flexible heating and cooling panels with highly distributed thermoelectric elements are provided. A thermoelectric “string” is described that may be woven or assembled into a variety of insulating panels such as seat cushions, mattresses, pillows, blankets, ceiling tiles, office partitions, under-desk panels, electronic enclosures, building walls, refrigerator walls, and heat conversion panels. The string contains spaced thermoelectric elements which are thermally and electrically connected to lengths of braided, meshed, stranded, foamed, or otherwise expandable and compressible conductor. The elements and a portion of compacted conductor are mounted within the insulating panel. On the outsides of the panel, the conductor is expanded to provide a very large surface area of contact with air or other medium for heat absorption on the cold side and for heat dissipation on the hot side.
