Abstract: An ablation system comprises: an ablation catheter and a console. The ablation catheter comprises: a shaft including a proximal end, a distal portion and a distal end; an ablation element configured to deliver energy to tissue; and a force maintenance assembly comprising a force maintenance element and configured to control and/or assess contact force between the ablation element and cardiac tissue. The console is configured to operably attach to the ablation catheter and comprises: an energy delivery assembly configured to provide energy to the ablation element. Methods of ablating tissue are also provided.

Abstract: Frame for use in coating a reinforcing fiber are provided. The frame includes a first frame end having a first cross-sectional shape. The first cross-sectional shape has one or more contact locations that are spaced apart from each other. The reinforcing fiber contacts the first frame end at the one or more contact locations. Methods are also provided for coating such a fiber.

Abstract: A system for coating reinforcing fiber of a composite component is provided, The system includes a frame including at least one contact location for contacting the reinforcing fiber and a movement mechanism including an actuator. The movement mechanism is operably coupled to the frame to induce movement of the reinforcing fiber relative to the frame. Methods are also provided for coating such a fiber.

Abstract: Earpieces and methods for acute sound detection and reproduction are provided. A method can include measuring an external ambient sound level (xASL), monitoring a change in the xASL for detecting an acute sound, estimating a proximity of the acute sound, and upon detecting the acute sound and its proximity, reproducing the acute sound within an ear canal, where the ear canal is at least partially occluded by an earpiece. Abstract: A method may include positioning a catheter, including at least one electrode, within an esophagus such that the electrode is proximate to at least one sympathetic ganglion. The methods may further include recruiting the sympathetic ganglion via an electrical signal, monitoring the recruitment of the sympathetic ganglion, and, based on the monitoring the recruitment of the sympathetic ganglion, adjusting the electrical signal from the at least one electrode.

Abstract: An interface is provided for a modeling application that determines required current required to deliver a target heat in a direct electrical heating system. The interface facilitates the input of input values implemented by the modeling application without requiring the configuration of an entire model. A technique for determining adjustments to required current between computational iterations reduces the number of iterations needed to converge on a solution.
