  • Publication number: 20210161441
Abstract: Health and care are improved through monitoring health markers. In one example a method includes measuring repeatedly at different times a quantity of a biochemical marker in a patient, storing the measurements in a log as entries associated with the patient, analyzing the stored measurements by comparing the quantity of the marker across the plurality of log entries, and determining an illness condition when a recent entry is different from previous log entries, for example when the recent entry is different by more than a threshold or when a baseline level or regular pattern is established from the multiple stored measurements and the recent entry is a change from the baseline by more than a threshold. If a deviation is determined, then an alert condition regarding the patient is determined.

  • Patent number: 7511677
Abstract: The present invention is applicable to satellite ground station antennas having a wide field of view in comparison to the satellites with which the antenna connects. One embodiment includes a parabolic reflector having a size that corresponds to a beam with an angular half-width larger than the spacing between neighboring interfering satellites. It also has a feed coupled to the parabolic reflector configured to have a high sensitivity for a target satellite within the angular half-width of the reflector beam and a low sensitivity for neighboring interfering satellites within the angular half-width of the reflector beam. Another embodiment includes projecting a first radiation pattern, such as a digital communications link, between a ground station antenna and a target satellite and projecting a second radiation pattern to a target interferer.

  • Patent number: 6356143
Abstract: A variable bandpass filter system passes a selected range of frequencies while rejecting other frequencies in an RF input signal. The system includes a switch and an oscillator. The switch receives the RF input signal and an oscillating calibration signal, and passes the RF input signal or said oscillating calibration signal based on a control signal. The oscillator receives an output of the switch, and frequency and gain control signals. The frequency control signal selects an operating frequency of the oscillator, such that the operating frequency determines a range of frequencies to pass. The gain control signal selects gain of the oscillator, where the oscillating calibration signal allows the oscillator to be calibrated by varying the gain such that the oscillator acts as a filter.

  • Patent number: 5449909
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for measuring gravitational and inertial forces, magnetic fields, or wave or radiant energy acting on an object or fluid in space provide an electric tunneling current through a gap between an electrode and that object or fluid in space and vary that gap with any selected one of such forces, magnetic fields, or wave or radiant energy acting on that object or fluid. These methods and apparatus sense a corresponding variation in an electric property of that gap and determine the latter force, magnetic fields, or wave or radiant energy in response to that corresponding variation, and thereby sense or measure such parameters as acceleration, position, particle mass, velocity, magnetic field strength, presence or direction, or wave or radiant energy intensity, presence or direction.

  • Patent number: 5211051
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improving performance of a sensor having a sensor proof mass elastically suspended at an initial equilibrium position by a suspension force, provide a tunable force opposing that suspension force and preset the proof mass with that tunable force to a second equilibrium position less stable than the initial equilibrium position. The sensor is then operated from that preset second equilibrium position of the proof mass short of instability. The spring constant of the elastic suspension may be continually monitored, and such continually monitored spring constant may be continually adjusted to maintain the sensor at a substantially constant sensitivity during its operation.
