Patent number: 7761182Abstract: A repair system for flat panel display (FPD) substrates performs a number of operations, such as automatic image capture and processing, automatic defect classification, automatic repair classification, and repair macro (instruction) generation software. Defect classification, repair classification, and repair macro generation are based on an open architecture and can address any number of use-cases through the use of multi-tiered classifiers, and thus a wide variety of panel designs may be repaired within a single repair tool. The multi-tiered set of classifiers, e.g., defect classifier, repair classifier, enables an efficient decision-making repair process with capability for customization. The multi-tiered classifiers are optionally extended to support statistical learning (both online & batch) and active learning, in the context of a supporting database of defects and associated tools.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2006Date of Patent: July 20, 2010Assignee: Photon Dynamics, Inc.Inventors: Harry Gallarda, Steven Barnes, Lakshman Srinivasan, Wayne Wang

Publication number: 20060144689Abstract: A modular ozone generator includes an ultraviolet (UV) lamp within a chamber for converting some of the oxygen molecules in air to ozone molecules. The air is introduced through an inlet at a high point of the chamber and discharged through an outlet at a low point of the chamber to increase the percentage of ozone discharged due to the higher density ozone molecules migrating downwardly. A second or more ozone generator modules are beneath the first ozone generator module with an interlocking mechanism to align the outlet of an upper ozone generator with the inlet of a lower ozone generator module. The number of cascaded ozone generator modules forming a vertical stack is a function of the concentration (and amount) of ozone molecules sought to be generated. Readily removable end caps for each ozone generator module accommodate repair and replacement of any and all internal components with or without dismounting the ozone generator module from its supporting structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 5, 2005Publication date: July 6, 2006Inventors: Steven Barnes, Richard Conn

Publication number: 20060144691Abstract: A modular ozone generator includes an ultraviolet (UV) lamp within a chamber for converting some of the oxygen molecules in air to ozone molecules. The air is introduced through an inlet at a high point of the chamber and discharged through an outlet at a low point of the chamber to increase the proportion of ozone molecules relative to the oxygen molecules discharged due to the higher density ozone molecules migrating downwardly. The introduced air is conveyed through a diffuser to provide multiple streams of air flowing about the lamp to enhance irradiation of the oxygen molecules and form ozone molecules. A second or more ozone generator modules are beneath the first ozone generator module with an interlocking mechanism to align the outlet of an upper ozone generator with the inlet of a lower ozone generator module. The number of cascaded ozone generator modules forming a vertical stack is a function of the concentration (and amount) of ozone molecules sought to be generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2006Publication date: July 6, 2006Inventors: Steven Barnes, Richard Conn, Robert Gray

Publication number: 20060015997Abstract: A drain for swimming pools, spas, whirlpool baths, etc., includes a plurality of first orifices in communication with corresponding serpentine passageways to minimize hair or a body part from covering and entering the first orifices to a degree sufficient to entrap a bather. A plurality of second orifices independent of the first orifices and in fluid communication with one another through a peripheral passageway provide a flow of water from the peripheral passageway into the serpentine passageways to create an alternate water inflow path and reduce the pressure differential and possible entrapment that might occur should a body part or hair come in contact with or enter the first orifices. Moreover, a plurality of ridges are attendant the first orifices to reduce the likelihood of direct contact with the first orifices by a body part or hair.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 23, 2004Publication date: January 26, 2006Inventor: Steven Barnes

Publication number: 20050273357Abstract: A system for providing integrated system solutions includes a set of process descriptions; a set of work product descriptions; and engagement models collecting the process descriptions and work product descriptions into a models for implementing typical projects addressing marketplace requirements. A systems integration method includes the steps of defining an engagement model which will be used to address a market place requirement; utilizing the engagement model to create an engagement template which specifically addresses client requirements within the market place; and measuring, monitoring and controlling client engagements based upon the engagement model.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2005Publication date: December 8, 2005Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Steven Barnes, John Cameron, David Gerber, Eduardo Kahan, Jon Boring, Christopher Newlon

Publication number: 20050213747Abstract: A method including several steps is provided for selectively combining single-channel and multi-channel signals for loudspeaker output. A single-channel signal (54) is created (208) based on an inbound multi-channel signal (32, 36). A local voice activity level and a remote voice activity level are detected (210). If the remote voice activity level dominates the local voice activity level, ? is set equal to a first percentage (212). Otherwise, ? is set equal to a second percentage higher than the first percentage (214). At least one loudspeaker output signal (22, 24) is mixed comprising a proportion of the single-channel signal based on ? and a proportion of the inbound multi-channel signal based on 1??. A computer program product is also provided for the preceding method. An apparatus is also provided, including a receive combiner (52), a sound activity monitor (72), a mix and amplitude selector (56), and a monaural and stereo mixer (78).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2004Publication date: September 29, 2005Inventors: Steven Popovich, Steven Barnes

Publication number: 20050066435Abstract: The swimming pool floor or spa floor drain assembly of the present invention includes a drain body having a mouth positionable in proximity to the pool wall to serve as a fluid flow inlet, a spaced apart fluid flow outlet positionable below the mouth and a sidewall interconnecting the mouth with the outlet to define a fluid flow chamber. The cross sectional area of the fluid flow chamber decreases from the mouth to the base. A fluid-deflecting plug includes a comparatively large area top and a comparatively small area base. A sidewall interconnects the top and base to form the plug with a cross sectional area decreasing from the top to the base.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2004Publication date: March 31, 2005Inventors: Steven Barnes, John Goettl
