  • Publication number: 20240085446
Abstract: An automated analyzer that receives samples prepared for analysis in an automated pre-analytical module and a method of operation of such automated analyzer. The automated analyzer includes a shuttle transfer station that receives a shuttle carrier from the automated pre-analytical system. The shuttle transfer station has a clamping assembly for the shuttle. The clamping assembly has jaws that advance engagement members into contact with a bottom portion of sample containers disposed in the shuttle. The clamping assembly secures the sample containers in the shuttle when sample is aspirated from the sample containers. The automated analyzer also has a multichannel puncture tool that is adapted to be carried by a robotic gripper mechanism. The multichannel puncture tool has multiple puncture members that each defines a channel Each channel is in communication with a different trough in the consumable. A pipette can pass through the channel in the puncture tool.

  • Patent number: 10027893
Abstract: Real-time video stabilization for mobile devices based on on-board motion sensing. In accordance with a method embodiment of the present invention, a first image frame from a camera at a first time is accessed. A second image frame from the camera at a subsequent time is accessed. A crop polygon around scene content common to the first image frame and the second image frame is identified. Movement information describing movement of the camera in an interval between the first time and the second time is accessed. The crop polygon is warped to remove motion distortions of the second image frame is warped using the movement information. The warping may include defining a virtual camera that remains static when the movement of the camera is below a movement threshold. The movement information may describe the movement of the camera at each scan line of the second image frame.

  • Publication number: 20180031596
Abstract: An article and method are described that measure the average speed of an object. A timer measures the time an object takes to travel from a start to a finish. A goniometer measures the angle between the start, the article, and the finish. A wave generator determines the distances from the article to the start and finish. Using a geometric identity, the distance traveled by the object from the start to the finish can be determined and, using the time, the average speed can be calculated. The article and method are especially suitable for quickly measuring the average speed of objects moving below about 10 m/s and without defining a predetermined path. An electronic processor can be used to automate the method.

  • Patent number: 9041800
Abstract: A method of operating a surveillance system includes capturing a sequence of images of a field-of-view. A source of localized motion is disposed within at least one of a plurality of segments of the field-of-view. Provided to an operator is means to enable or disable, for at least one of the segments of the field-of-view, a localized motion identification and notification function wherein localized motion in the segment is automatically identified and distinguished from transient motion, and the operator is automatically notified about the presence of the localized motion.

  • Patent number: 8960381
Abstract: A system and method are provided for mounting, removing and retaining brake pads in disc brakes, such as air-operated disc brakes utilized on commercial vehicles, in a manner which does not require the use of separate brake pad retaining devices while providing positive retention of the brake pad. A preferred embodiment includes a brake caliper mount having brake pad abutment surfaces having radially-oriented and lateral grooves which permit a brake pad with corresponding projections on is lateral sides to be inserted through an opening of the brake caliper into the radially-oriented grooves until the backing plate projections are aligned with the lateral groove, and advancing the brake actuator behind the brake pad to place the brake pad in an operating position in which the actuator prevents the brake pad from realigning with the radially-oriented grooves until the actuator is retracted to permit brake pad extraction.
