  • Patent number: 10129159
Abstract: A method for data communication between a first node and a second node over a number of data paths coupling the first node and the second node includes transmitting messages between the first node and the second node over the number of data paths including transmitting a first subset of the messages over a first data path of the number of data paths, and transmitting a second subset of the messages over a second data path of the number of data paths. The first data path has a first latency and the second data path has a second latency substantially larger than the first latency, and messages of the first subset of the messages are chosen to have first message characteristics and messages of the second subset are chosen to have second message characteristics, different from the first message characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20180294048
Abstract: A system for obtaining substantially all medical information available to a specific patient from a network of endpoints and combining the information to create a comprehensive aggregate patient record. The system allows users to access and download their medical information from numerous institutions. The system combines a user's information into a single aggregate record without requiring the patient to interact with numerous patient portals.

  • Patent number: 9201870
Abstract: A method, system and computer-readable storage medium are provided for generating translated dynamic Web page content comprising a phrasebook storing source phrases and translated phrases, a Web server, and an application server that generates dynamic Web page content in response to Web page requests and includes a translation engine that replaces source phrases in the dynamic Web page with a corresponding translated phrase stored in the phrasebook. In another embodiment the phrasebook also stores translations in a second dialect so that source phrases in a dynamic Web page can be translated into two or more dialects.

  • Publication number: 20150234984
Abstract: A system for obtaining substantially all medical information available to a specific patient from satellite portals and adapted to report that information to authorized individuals and satellite portals. The system polls the satellite portals for the medical information and interfaces with the satellite portals without requiring the patient to interface with the API that intervenes upon patient query between the satellite portal and the patient.

  • Patent number: 7356015
Abstract: A method and associated system enables seamless data roaming and handoff between the wireless local area network (WLAN) and the wireless wide-area network (WWAN). This method enables a mobile device to originate a data connection in the WLAN and have this data connection be automatically handed off to the WWAN without losing the connection when the user goes outside the range of the WLAN. Similarly, it enables a mobile device to originate a data connection in the WWAN and have this data connection be automatically handed off to the WLAN without losing the connection when the user loses the signal of the WWAN. This solution assumes that the user has subscribed to data services from a cellular carrier that will authenticate the user before permitting the handoff.

  • Publication number: 20070238465
Abstract: Telecommunication services are provided to users. User information for a first identity of a user in a first telecommunication network is maintained. An active presence for a mobile device for the user is maintained by means of a second identity in a second telecommunication network. A presence of the user in the first network is emulated using a gateway system that couples the first telecommunication network to the second telecommunication network.

  • Publication number: 20070234404
Abstract: Application layer authentication of a data-network based application makes use of a SIM function accessible to the application and telephone network authentication service accessible to a server to the application. For example, the application uses SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) for communication with the server and the authentication service is provided via a GSM based telephone network. In one implementation, a device (a “dongle”) includes an authentication module, application software, and an interface for communicating with a remote server over a data communication network. The application software includes instructions for using the authentication module to authorize an application layer interaction with the remote server.

  • Patent number: 7203482
Abstract: A mechanism to permit the cryptographic authentication of a mobile device in the cellular carrier's network when the device is present in the 802.11 network, wireless LAN, served by a Cellular Controller and not connected directly to the cellular carrier's network via a radio link is disclosed. The Cellular Controller acts as a proxy for the mobile device when the device is in a building served by an 802.11 wireless LAN. The solutions features the separation of a mobile device's radio function from its ANSI-41 authentication mechanism to permit the proxy function to work and to not have to duplicate the ANSI-41 authentication data and CAVE algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20070070976
Abstract: A telecommunication approach provides telephone service to subscribers on terminals registered on a mobile network that are consistent with the services provided to those subscribers at terminals on a fixed communication network. For instance, the subscriber on the terminals on the mobile network may have access to mid-call features and private dialing plans that are supported using elements on the fixed network, and calls placed to the subscribers at addresses (e.g., wireline numbers or SIP addresses) on the fixed network may be delivered to their terminals on the mobile network.

  • Publication number: 20060116127
Abstract: A telephone system supports communication with user devices over both a cellular radio network as well as over an Internet Protocol (IP) network, and enables roaming and active call handoff between cellular and IP domains. Components of the system interact with conventional cellular telephone systems, for example, by emulating behavior of control components, providing proxy services for conventional components, transporting cellular telephone control communication over IP connections, or by simulating cellular operating characteristics of user devices operating in an IP domain.
