  • Publication number: 20210401532
Abstract: A protective equipment includes a rotatable window and an extended member secured to a peripheral edge of the rotatable window. The rotatable window may be configured as a shield to be disposed between a patient and a healthcare worker to minimize exposure of the healthcare worker to at least one of the patient's bodily fluids, bacteria, and viruses. A port provides entrance by one or more instruments through the rotatable window or the extended member, thereby providing access to the patient while protecting the healthcare worker from the patient's bodily fluids, bacteria and/or viruses. The protective equipment may include an air flow system configured to receive and filter air expelled by the patient, to pull the expelled air away from the patient's face and to filter/clean the expelled air.

  • Publication number: 20210331004
Abstract: A protective equipment includes a face shield configured for being worn by a patient to minimize exposure of a healthcare worker to the patient's bodily fluids, bacteria and/or viruses. The face shield includes a body having an upper peripheral edge and a lower peripheral edge. At least one port is formed in the body. The protective equipment may include a barrier positioned in the port. The protective equipment may further include an extended member secured to the lower peripheral edge of the face shield, and configured to substantially inhibit or trap micro aerosolized particles from traversing the extended member. The protective equipment includes an air flow system configured to receive and filter air from an environment external to the face shield and pull the patient's expelled air away from the patient's face and filter or clean the expelled air.

  • Patent number: 10966640
Abstract: A system for a healthcare provider to administer a portable interactive hearing assessment is provided. The system allows the healthcare provider to administer the hearing assessment in a way that accurately detects hearing loss and provides recommendations for seeking further assistance from qualified hearing health specialists and/or an ENT physician. The system includes a hearing test device, and a processor that receives and processes a pressure test result associated with each of the patient's ear from a tympanometer and the patient's response to one or more pure tone frequencies transmitted by the hearing test device. The processor may also provide a report and recommendation based on received pressure test result and the determined hearing results, and demonstrate effects of any hearing loss to a person accompanying the patient so that the accompanying person understands a scope of the patient's hearing loss.

  • Publication number: 20200315544
Abstract: A system that enables a hearing test administrator to reduce false indications of hearing loss in a patient and administer an interactive hearing assessment in a test environment is described. The system includes a sound measuring device to measure one or more background sounds of the test environment, and a data processor to process the background sounds, and determine the frequency and amplitude of the background sounds. The system may further include a memory that stores the backgrounds sounds, and its frequency and/or amplitude. The system may analyze whether the background sounds are above the maximum permissible ambient noise levels of the test environment and generate a report for analysis by the hearing test administrator.
